Born Free Foundation  Working to stop individual wild animal suffering & protect threatened species in the wild 🐘🌍🦁🌏🐋 #KeepWildlifeInTheWild

"If we do not do something to prevent it, Africa's animals, and the places in which they live, will be lost to our world, and her children, forever. Before it is too late, we need your help to lay the foundation that will preserve this precious legacy long after we are gone." - #NelsonMandela #Mandela100

Did you know? #Badgers are incredibly clean and will not defecate (poo) in their setts. They have special latrines (communal toilets) comprising of shallow pits away from their setts on the edge of their territory. #WildlifeWednesday #WednesdayWisdom #Badger

#Elephants are in crisis. At least 55 elephants are killed by poachers every day for their tusks. That’s about one every 25 minutes… Many experts have predicted that, unless poaching can be effectively addressed, elephants could all but disappear in the coming decades. Born Free simply cannot, and will not, let that happen.

With your support we will fund anti-poaching patrols, establish a community-based #Elephant Guardian Programme, maintain our support of the world's longest-running wild elephant monitoring project, and support the UK government in its ongoing efforts to ban the commercial ivory trade within, to and from the UK.

Doing nothing is not an option. Please visit the link in our bio today. Thank you 🐘#ElephantsInCrisis

Did you know? #Elephants eat about 4% of their body weight in vegetation every day, which means an adult #elephant produces about a tonne of manure every week, fertilising the #forests and #savannahs of #Africa and #Asia. #WildlifeWednesday #WednesdayWisdom #GardenersOfTheForest 🐘
