#TransformationTuesday #SouthWest1380 ... I’m am so blessed to be able to be apart of her new journey. This brave soul @rubsmewrite who survived #flight1380 *engine exploded ✈️ - story below
April 17, 2018 is a day I’ll never forget. I was en route on Southwest Flight 1380 from New York to Dallas, Texas for a leadership conference. We had been in the air approximately 15min when suddenly the engine exploded.
Plummeting from thirty thousand feet in the air, I was forced to face the ultimate. I just knew I only had a few minutes of life left; and at any second, my death. I had just enough time to text my loved ones and give them instructions on what to do upon my passing.
However, God had other plans for me that day. In the only way God could do, we were granted a safe emergency landing. I can not go into more detail because the trauma and retelling of it at times is unbearable. But, receiving this second chance forced me to think about things I hadn’t accomplished.
What were some things that were preventing me from truly living my best life?
One answer stood out from the rest.
Having been a “fluffy” girl for most of my life, I realized, that’s one area that I had put off; my health. I’ve either been taking care of parents, my nieces and nephew or busy working. But as I began to prioritize the things that mattered, this area of my life required more from me. More of my time, dedication, and attention.
So by faith, I reached out to Adonis and expressed to him that I was ready to make a change. Without hesitation, he took me up on my offer.
We’re just starting this journey and I’ve got a long way to go. With much prayer, continued therapy and support, I am taking it one day at a time. My prayer is that some part of my journey will be an inspiration to others.
