Yall have heard me speak on this before...now hear from some professionals from different perspectives.
@Regrann from @duppandswat - Tonight at 6:15 (@hyggeclt Coworking) at Camp North End : Join us for a talk about gentrification and the ways in which many people of color are being displaced in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. "Development" continues to threaten the housing stability of people who live in majority Black, Brown, working class neighborhoods and folks in North Charlotte, West Charlotte, and East Charlotte.
West side resident, organizer/ activist/healer Amalia Deloney will speak about her photo essay entitled: Strangers in our own Land. We're interested in discussing definitions of
gentrification, stewardship (to land), colonial settlers, anti-Blackness, private property, and indigneaity.
We welcome all community members from different parts of the city to participate in a discussion about land and liberation.
