Lempuyang Luhur Temple is one of Bali’s oldest and most highly regarded temples on par with Besakih (the mother temple of Bali). The heights are reachable via a steep staircase of over 1,700 steps, with attractions along the way including several other temples and hordes of grey long-tailed macaques that inhabit the surrounding cool mountain forests.
The temple is one of the Sad Kahyangan Jagad, or the 'six sanctuaries of the gods', the six holiest worship places on the island.
In addition, it also has many interesting spots to pose, one of which is in the gate or guests often call it as Gate of Heaven. This gate has a height of about four meters with its background the view of Agung Mountain is right in the middle of the gate. | 📸 by @katrina_smolla
