Boston Health Care forHomeless  Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program provides homeless individuals & families in Boston with access to the highest quality health care.

Reese stoped by our recent health fair at @bridgeotw and was pleasantly surprised to find our volunteer, Joyce of @helpis_official, giving free hair cuts. As Reese said, "it definitely makes a difference. When you look good, it makes you feel good."

We are so proud to be honoring Laila Berstein with our Change Maker Award at the Emerging Leaders Fall Soiree on 10/19! (Link in bio.)
Laila Bernstein is Advisor to the Mayor for the Initiative to End Chronic Homelessness in the City of Boston. She has had the honor to work on this Initiative since fall of 2014.
During that time, the City and its partners have reduced the number of homeless Veterans on any given night to the lowest count ever seen in Boston (44% reduction in 3 years), ended chronic homelessness among veterans, and housed 391 chronically homeless individuals. Congratulations Laila!

Last week we had a health fair at Bridge Over Troubled Waters, a local organization working with teens. Clinicians, nursing students & staff were on hand to administer flu shots and discuss health concerns like mental health, contraception, and STD testing, and hand out snacks and prizes. A couple of therapy dogs even came by to spend the afternoon with the teens at Bridge!

Friends, we need your help. If Congress doesn’t act by tomorrow, 9/30 to #FixTheCliff, community health centers nationwide will lose funding, including us. We’re facing a $2 million cut, which would have a profound impact on the work we do every day with our most vulnerable neighbors. Please show your support for our life-saving work by taking action. We’re asking each of you to take a few minutes out of your day to call members of congress at 1-866-456-3949. Enter your zip code, and use the call script at the link in bio to guide your conversation. As always, we are so grateful to you for your support. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of our patients, today and every day.

This Thursday, 8/31, is International Overdose Awareness Day. Join us this week as we mourn, share resources, and try to put a human face on an epidemic that has taken so much away from so many people, here in Massachusetts and across the country. We know that every person lost is someone's mother, father, son, or daughter, so we'll be sharing #StoriesNotStigma, and we encourage you to do the same.

We are back at it tonight! Our volunteers are set up at all gates and ready to collect socks at Fenway! #soxforsocks

#SoxforSocks is finally here! If you're coming to a @redsox game this weekend, please bring an unopened package of white, cotton socks to any gate.
Can't make it to @fenwaypark? Follow along online! We're going live today at 6:30PM to kick off #SoxforSocks! Join us on Facebook to see all the action out at Fenway and meet our new pal, Dan the Sox Fan.
We'll be updating social media throughout the weekend, so make sure you like and follow here, on Twitter, and on Facebook so you don't miss out!

Are you ready for #SoxforSocks? If you're coming to Fenway July 28-30, bring new socks to donate to men, women and children in the Greater Boston Area experiencing homelessness. Link in bio
