[1/3] I loved this series of shots! The juxtaposition and the candidness of the moment just really tickled me for some reason.
As this guy in his fabulous blue suit was posing, this street girl strolls right into the shot. She had been hanging around talking to a lot of the photographers, joking with us (she was really funny!), trying to get us to buy gum, and just watching what we were doing as the street was clogged with more than 200 photographers during #wwim16nairobi #wwim16.
The thing that I loved was her complete boldness and confidence, she saw us taking his portrait and just strolled right over! She didn't ask, didn't wait to be invited, but just saw her opportunity and took it. I love this sort of boldness! No matter where you come from, confidence can open opportunities for you.
Seeing this type of confidence, especially in someone so young is inspiring, because it's this type of confidence that will open doors you would never imagine and make people believe in you in an instant. I hope I get to meet her again!
The other photographers were upset and yelling for her to get out of the way, that she was messing up their shot, but for me this moment was perfect, it was one of my favourites, if not THE favourite, from the night. 📷 @imanacooper
