Yaaasssss!!!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ War Eagle! What a game. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ I took this pic 2 summers ago on the hottest day of the year! And embarrassed my kids. And probably everyone else passing by. #dontcare Auburn is the place where my life began. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ญโค๏ธ #wareagle

Spending the day with my blonde. Just the two of us. ๐Ÿโค๏ธ The light bulb went off for me a couple of days ago...I have been having horrible hip and low back pain after every single run. And that pain has followed me onto my yoga mat. ๐Ÿ˜ญ Iโ€™ve rested it. Iโ€™ve been patient. And then (light bulb moment)...I need new running shoes. Duh. DUH. So, I got new running shoes and guess what? I feel tremendously better. I๏ธ have been running for many years. How am I๏ธ so clueless? ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ So, all of this to say- I am on the mend and i feel like the weight has been lifted. I feel better today than I have in about a month. No pain after my run yesterday. No pain when I๏ธ woke up this morning. No pain on my yoga mat. NO PAIN! Duh. What an easy fix. ๐Ÿ™ˆHappy Saturday!

Fall has officially arrived in Alabama! Leaves everywhere and Iโ€™m so happy! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ™Œ I๏ธ took my new @aftershokz wireless headphones with me today on my run. I๏ธ LOVE THEM. First of all, I๏ธ donโ€™t just use them for runs. I๏ธ have been using them to chat hands free while Iโ€™m driving, while Iโ€™m walking my dogs at night, and cooking dinner. I๏ธ also have used them while practicing yoga, which was amazing and I๏ธ was pleasantly surprised that they stayed in place- even when I๏ธ was upside down. ๐Ÿ™ƒ AND I๏ธ even used them in bed to listen to my meditation app. They are awesome because they are cordless. Can I๏ธ tell you how many times I๏ธ have wrapped myself up in cords while running? ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ The sound is great and I๏ธ highly recommend them. I havenโ€™t been feeling like myself lately. Not physically. Not mentally. Just a little stuck. I donโ€™t mind being stuck for a bit. It pushes me to get unstuck. I make myself do the hard things when I start to feel like this. Sometimes the hard things are just sitting with myself and being okay with where I am. Sometimes it means pushing myself physically. All I wanted to do was run today. Run fast and hard, but it got dark too early and I missed it. And I felt more stuck than ever. So, I rolled out my mat and practiced. And it was sweaty and hard. (All the chaturangas ๐Ÿ˜œ) Iโ€™m working my way out of being stuck. I can only take so many days of feeling off before I slap myself in the face and make myself get it together. Does anyone else ever feel stuck too? How do you get unstuck? #monday

Iโ€™m posting this struggle crow press because it literally took me 30 minutes today to muster up enough energy to do this...and this is usually my go to/ always can do press. I didnโ€™t get frustrated and I really didnโ€™t care much if the press happened or not. I was about to walk away from it and then boom. ๐Ÿ’ฅ Iโ€™m practicing non-attachment to my yoga practice. Iโ€™m guessing when Iโ€™m 70 I wonโ€™t be doing crow presses, so letโ€™s stop with obsessing over what we can and canโ€™t do. (Talking to myself) ๐Ÿค— And about the โ€œthatโ€™s not yogaโ€ post going around...a wise man once taught me- who cares what other people think. It took me a while to fully embrace that, but heโ€™s right. Who cares?! Thereโ€™s so much freedom in not caring. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜‚ This is my practice and thatโ€™s all. Post-run stretching. 4 miles with my boys today. 4 goood miles. My oldest brought his running A game and my youngest happily sat in the stroller the whole time. Sometimes itโ€™s an uphill battle getting my people to run/ride with me, but today the stars aligned. ๐Ÿ™Œ Iโ€™ve been battling some hamstring/ piriformis/ hip issues. ๐Ÿ˜ž I went to the chiropractor yesterday and she worked out my piriformis muscle ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. I also have been foam rolling and itโ€™s absolute torture. Little injuries and discomforts are annoying, but equally humbling. .

He works 2 full-time fire department jobs and is only home every 3rd day. That 3rd day goes by so fast and then heโ€™s gone again. ๐Ÿ˜ญ So, sometimes family time happens while heโ€™s on shift. Heโ€™s the hardest working person I know and he never gets enough credit and he never complains. Daddy is hands down the most popular person at our house. Cat lady over here! ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜น I've never had a cat of my own really and they honestly kind of make me nervous. The whole time I was thinking, "please don't kill me." ๐Ÿ™€ But, I was at my brother and sister in law's house alone and waiting (on my late brother... for an hour ๐Ÿ™„) to go for a run. Sooo, I decided to practice some handstands for the #UpEndedAsanas challenge. The cats joined me. ๐Ÿค— They really liked seeing themselves in the reverse camera. ๐Ÿ˜น My brother and sister in law are OBSESSED with cats. Their obsession with cats probably doesn't come close to my greyhound obsession though. #ihaveaproblem #lovegreyhoundssomuch ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Day 10 of #UpEndedAsanas! The final day and it's scorpion! ๐Ÿฆ‚ This video is a #tbt from a few weeks ago because I didn't have it in me today to practice this. This video is pretty boring and I didn't speed it up, so it's long. ๐Ÿ™ˆ. I was trying to transition from scorpion back to a straight handstand and I fell out. I felt like I really messed it up and it wasn't good and then my 10 year old said, "Good job. That was good." You can hear him at the end of the video. Sometimes we just need a little positivity and encouragement. I walked away from that handstand feeling pretty good. ๐Ÿคธโ€โ™‚๏ธ I have loved this challenge. Day 9 of #UpEndedAsanas is teapot or half stag. Guess what? Snapped this pic running out the door to run again and it took some work. ๐Ÿ˜ I was going to take the pic in my yard, but there were landscapers everywhere and my 10 year old was embarrassed of me. ๐Ÿ˜‚ So, I decided I was going to take the pic in my parent's yard since I was headed there anyway to drop off the kids before my run. Guess what? They were getting a new roof. Roofers everywhere. ๐Ÿ˜ต So, I went around to the back of their neighbor's house to hide (and not embarrass my kids) ๐Ÿ˜ฌ and take the pic. Happy weekend! I've been waiting my whole life to have nothing to do on a Saturday. ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜ญI gathered ALL of my people (minus daddy) and we ran. And it was glorious. We managed 3 good miles at a 9:45 pace. ๐Ÿ™Œ That's a win for me with 2 kids and 2 dogs. Even Wet Dog proved to be a real greyhound today. If you don't know my greyhound, Wet Dog...he's the laziest and usually hates running, but he rocked it today. ๐Ÿ’ชI hope my boys remember these days when they grow old. I know I'm not doing it all right because being a mom is the hardest job I have and I know I fail over and over again. Failing daily. But, I feel all of the love on days like this. All 3 of us together, side by side and it feels so good. I love my boys. โค๏ธโค๏ธ #saturday #run #runhappy

Hey y'all! Let's talk about food. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Food. I did 40 days of #Whole30 over the summer and it was awesome. I loved it. I felt better than ever. And then time went on and I found myself slowly adding the non-compliant foods back in. A bite here. A bite there. ๐Ÿฌ ๐Ÿช ๐Ÿ• That kind of felt inevitable because Whole30 is very rigid. I don't feel so great when I eat too many of the trigger foods. ๐Ÿ™„ But, it's not all bad. I haven't forgotten everything. Actually I know everything about it because it ruled my life for 40 days! I KNOW what to eat and what not to eat even if I don't always follow the rules. I eat A LOT more greens than I used to and I know what my body needs to feel good. Sometimes I don't listen to my body and I don't plan very well and I end up eating all of the goodies because life is short and I'm only human. ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿท But, I do feel more in control after doing Whole30. I have the keys now. ๐Ÿ”‘ Knowledge is power. I highly recommend getting to know YOUR own body! But, every now and then I need a @cookiefix cookie. It's a necessity. ๐Ÿ˜œ #feedyourbody #feedyourmind #balance

Day 5 of #UpEndedAsanas is lady legs. ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿผ I chose #pincha because #forearmfriday ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿป. I hopped into this immediately after my run today. Forehead veins popping. ๐Ÿ˜œ I felt awful before my run and ahhhhmazing after. Running is my magic mood potion. Happy Friday, y'all! โœŒ๏ธ .
