And next time, we’re taking surfing lessons! πŸ„β€β™€οΈπŸ„πŸŒŠ

Trail running: Great friends, amazing views, killer hills for miles. Super proud of everyone that ran the Hixon races today. First trail 25k is in the books, and it was one of the hardest races I’ve done. Jury is still out on if/ when there will be a second.

Climbing fire towers and seeing fall colors was the perfect way to end the long weekend. Already counting down to our next adventure together.

Marathon spectating is my favorite. 😁😁😁 Congrats to all of my friends that ran the marathon and all of them kicked butt! Congrats to the 10 milers that ran awesome fast and that I didn't see because logistics are hard.

I made a mini baked Alaska -- a Genoese sponge cake, topped with ice cream (I used pistachio and blue moon almond flavors) and covered in meringue. You shape and freeze the ice cream. Bake the sponge cake. And then combine and top with meringue to bake in the oven at 500 Deb for 5 min. Yes. I put ice cream in the oven at 500 degrees and had minor melting (science is cool). It's probably my new favorite desert.
I've been watching too much Great British baking show. I imagine Mary Berry's comments would be the following: shape could use some work, good color on the meringue. Separation needed between sponge and ice cream. And don't use green pistachio ice cream and blue moon together. It looks bad, but tasted AMAZING. Better coverage with the meringue too avoid the minor melting.

Super proud of my Free motion quilting on an Eric Carle themed baby quilt. Check out the stitching near the seals, snakes and bottom white swirls.

Hello Yosemite and September. Farewell to a summer filled with nature and so much fanny pack usage.

The totality experience was so amazing and breathtaking and bizarre that photos unintentionally took a backseat to the actual experience. But here are 5 mediocre photos from the approximate beginning of the 2:35 of totality to the end taken with the same settings and of the approximate same area that hardly do the experience justice. The temperature drop was crazy cool/ weird and the foreground definitely got dark while the sky in the distance stayed lighter. Those two and a half minutes of totality went by too fast, and the return of the sun was amazing.

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and celebrations! I had an amazing weekend to top off an amazing year 25. Looking forward to what 26 has in store for me. I feel so loved. β˜ΊοΈπŸŽ‰πŸŽˆπŸ»

Showed up to robotics tonight and to my surprise the kids sang me happy birthday, made a cake fully decorated with a bridge and gave me a pack of skittles with lime. I'm so grateful and blessed for being a part of this amazing team that's also part family.

Adventure Kayaking on the Peshtigo River with Aunt Julie was a blast! 5 hours, 8 miles, 6 portages, 500 bug bites, and a laminated map (thanks Uncle Bill!) ended successfully with smiles and mud covering everything.
