This is a bottle of Labet & Dechelette Chateau de La Tour Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2013, the winery being the only one within the walls of this highly regarded vineyard. Showed aromas of violets and microherbs, with the palate showing intense plum and purple floral notes, with all the complex structure and density to tell you to come back to it in 5 years. Excellent wine!

Hill of Grace 2005 by @henschke is looking amazing already. Patience will reward those that can keep their hands off it a little longer, but why wait? After an hour decanting it was looking amazing already - the balance between primary fresh berry fruit juice and violets with secondary cacoa nibs, sweet earth, and leather all intertwined with pulpy like tannins to a long and drawn out finish was extremely satisfying to have. 👌

Side by side: 1998 Latour and 2003 Lafite. Both still tasting incredibly fresh with secondary characters only just showing on the Latour now. Lafite was an interesting experience and changed several times in the glass swiftly to an almost potpourri, Turkish delight and vanilla cream character enveloped with structure. Both demanded time in the decanters of around an hour before showing anything. 🐛

SRC Rivaggi - wow, what a wine and set for cruise control on complex all the way through yet completely inviting. Amaro, bitter orange, herbal, layered, sweet earth, fine boned tannin and acidity with a lip smacking finish of fresh juice. 👏👏

Raveneau Foret 1er Cru Chablis 2009 was a very special and interesting wine to look at tonight. White floral aromatics and seawater, with a profile of pineapple pieces, seashell and fresh vanilla cream, almost like from a splice ice cream centre as both flavour and texture. Couldn’t get away from it. The acidity was so finely woven and the finish endlessly long. I will remember this fondly - a beautiful example of what aged Chablis can do at the hands of a top Producer.

On tasting today we’ve got Frederick Stevenson 2017 Marsanne Rousanne open, are you coming in? The juice is great, and how about the awesome art on the label? ‘Fish’ by @alisehardy 🐠✨

Another PYCM opened tonight, the 2015 Meursault before decanting was looking very shy, however after it was all ripe peaches, white pepper and seashell characters with fresh, cooling acidity and a long quality finish. Stunning wine from a remarkable producer. 🍑

We have @madawines new vintage wines open all day for tasting. ☀️

Somos Biodynamic Aglianico 2016 - juicy blueberry, smoked sausage and vegetal characters happening that make it a perfect pairing with double pepperoni pizza, and not a single Naples certification in sight. 🍃

On tasting this afternoon we have Felton Rd Block 2 Chardonnay 2016 open! Citrus, elderflower and wet stone minerality that builds to a long finish. No added yeast, no new oak, no fining and no filtration. It has nothing added yet everything going on at same time. 😎

The saying of buy by Producer over site in Burgundy rings true with the 2016 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Bourgogne Hautes-cotes de Beaune, looking incredible and drinking so well already - all subtle chalk, shale, talcum, stonefruit skins and gentle acidity from start to a long finish. If it were a blind tasting I would’ve mistaken it for a Premier Cru. 🔥🔥🔥
