We're having rainy days here in New England, but we're still working on summer knits! Berroco Modern Cotton is a great choice for summer shawls, such as Kirsten Kapur's Vinalhaven Wrap from Berroco Portfolio Volume 3. The combination of bamboo-inspired stitches and lace edging are perfect for warmer weather. Get the pattern via the link in our profile and get knitting! @throughtheloops .

The last piece in the new Nebula Collection is Sana, a long cowl worked with an eyelet pattern that shows off the gorgeous color variations of Berroco Nebula (shown here in Scorpio). You only need one cake of Nebula to knit this cowl, and we currently have ten shades to consider! Which color calls to you? Find them all at (search for Nebula). This week's free pattern is Omega, a semi-circular shawl knit with two cakes of Berroco Nebula (shown in Taurus). Knit from the top down with simple eyelet increases, Omega allows the long-color repeats to shine in this easy shawl. Download the free pattern at (just search for Omega).

We just released our Nebula collection, made of four pieces for you to wear around your neck in this stunning, colorful yarn. This is Pari, a knitted shawl that's worked sideways with sculptural fringe worked as you knit. A combo of garter stitch and stockinette helps break up the colors just a bit to show off the long color flow of Nebula (shown in Sagittarius). Click the link in our profile for more information on this and the other Nebula Collection patterns!

Taking a sweater on a trip may not seem like the most obvious choice, but stick with me. Sweater sleeves are perfect pieces to knit while traveling—you're going to want something relatively mindless and they have to be knit anyway, but they don't take up much room in your carry-on and, as a last resort, if you're stuck on a cold airplane, you can always pull them on to help insulate. Look for bottom-up sweater patterns where you're knitting the sleeves separately before joining to a yoke, or set-in sleeves, such as those for Audre, knit in Berroco Bento. Find more info on this pattern via our Ravelry store (link in profile).

Jesie Ostermiller's Alpine Twist hat and mitten set from Portfolio Volume 4 would also be a great choice for a travel project. They're both knit with Berroco Ultra Wool, which features a specially designed center-pull string, so you can always find the end of the yarn. A repeating stitch pattern on the hat and mittens means you don't have to worry about a lot of charts. Download both patterns in one convenient eBook in our Ravelry store (link in profile).

Yeva, from Booklet 390 Berroco Catena, is ideal travel knitting—worked all in one piece, mostly garter stitch, with a simple edging that's worked as you go. Plus, the yarn comes in super squishy balls, so they could double as neck pillows while on the go. Find out more information on the pattern via the link in our profile.

We love pairing traditional stitch patterns with gorgeous yarns that truly let them shine, and Abebi is just one example of this. Knit in Berroco Quechua, our new sportweight blend of merino, alpaca, and yak, Abebi uses a simple feather-and-fan pattern to show off the depth of color and shine that this yarn has. You can find Abebi and all of the other patterns from booklet 389 Berroco Quechua by clicking the link in our profile.
