I was hanging with some good friends recently and we were talking about the importance of ‘playing the long game’ in life and in what you set your hands to do. A brief, but profound turn in the conversation came for all of us when it was mentioned that the ‘long game’ is actually the only one there is. There are in fact no other options.
It struck me.
One life. One story with sometimes wildly different chapters that fill it. Every day a gift. Every day an opportunity to live with an open heart and clear purpose. With every change of season, change of direction, change in relationships - May God give us the grace to run it with all of our might, in a way that builds up and brings strength to those we run alongside.
