You can always spot a Fogle. They are the ones still wearing shorts in mid November. I love the view from Primrose Hill in London. The greatest city in the world #London #shorts

There is an article on couples therapy by @marina.fogle and me in @thetimes today. Both Marina and I are advocates of a yearly marriage MOT. Someone to talk to before things become an issue. It might not be right for everyone but it works well for us. Michelle Obama admitted last week that she and Barack do the same. In the spirit of honesty and opened, Marina and I have shared our experience

I’m often asked the most unusual place I’ve been and I think this is probably it, Tristan da Cunha, the worlds remotest inhabited island in the South Atlantic. It is an Overseas Territory of Great Britain with a current population of 250. There is no airport. The only way to get there is by ship from South Africa which departs once a year. The 1700 mile sea passage takes 6 days. It really is an extraordinary place. I wrote about it in my first book, The Teatime Islands. #tristandacunha #teatimeislands #islands #remote

Thanks to the @britisharmy for putting me through my paces yesterday with their new fitness test, (The Physical Employment Standards) Not my normal fitness equipment and clothing but it gave me a good insight into the level of fitness across the armed forces. The test is fit for purpose but are all the soldiers fit for the test? I hope so. #britisharmy

HOW TO BE HAPPY AND POSITIVE? Lesson 1. Never forget your roots. We all started somewhere. Never forget the countless people that helped you get where you are. It is so easy to forget about the friends, family, work colleagues, teachers, bosses, and mentors who helped us earlier in life. Yesterday I revisited my old school to thank my teachers and inspire another generation. So many people have helped me through the years and I’ll never forget what they did for me. Their advice or support has been invaluable. I owe a lot to this bunch of Castaways. 19 years ago we were marooned for a year on an island in the Outer Hebrides. I’ll never forget them nor the experience. I feel so lucky that I got to experience a hand to mouth sustainable, farming life on Taransay. I will never forget those that gave me the opportunity to take part and set me on my incredible journey that has take me to some of the wildest, remotest corners of the planet #castaway

I spent today at Bulford military camp testing out the new army fitness exam. Several weeks ago I was on BBC Radio 4 to read the Sunday Papers and I highlighted a story in most of the papers that alleged fitness in the military was at an all time low. The Army called me the following day to refute the story and say they had been misrepresented. They asked if I would be willing to come along to test it out myself. In a world of fake news I felt it was my duty to give the army a response to the allegations (something that none of the national papers have done) so today I was put though my paces by PT instructors with 5th Battalion The Rifles. You can watch what happened at 7.30am tomorrow morning on @gmb @britisharmy
