Behind the Scenes NYC By Fê P.  Disrupting the status quo, far from the NY touristy scene & strengthening the local community! Curated by: @feparonetto1 🚕 Welcome to our world! 🚕

This is where you have to be this Saturday!!!
.
We love Vick & The Velvicks (@thevelvicks) and they will be playing at one of the most amazing places in Brooklyn!
.
The venue? National Sawdust (@nationalsawdust), an unparalleled, artist-led, non-profit venue, is a place for exploration and discovery. A place where emerging and established artists can share their music with serious music fans and casual listeners alike.

ABOUT THE SHOW!
Much of the charm of a place like Brooklyn comes from discovering what secret events hide inside seemingly mundane brick buildings with colorful street art plastered on their walls. Wandering the streets of Brooklyn’s culturally booming neighborhoods you may ask yourself, “What exclusive functions could I attend if I were lucky enough to be in-the-know?” - Soundigest
.
THE REVOLUTION is a performance series highlighting Brooklyn & Harlem based artists + musicians that not only represent the core of independent pop culture but who currently stand in the breeding ground of evolution within their genre.
.
This local musical movement empowers community, change, and activism through performance and unity amongst the arts. Once a month, three different artists showcasing three different genres have a chance to spread love, light, and awareness through their music and their stories. This series supports revolutionary artistry and how important music is to healing, in all aspects of life.
.
As a part of VOL. 28, The Revolution will feature three incredible live performances from local artists Vick & The Velvicks (@thevelvicks), JSWISS (@jswisshere), and FKAjazz (@fkajazz)!!!

The 5 Top Coffee Shops In Greenpoint, Brooklyn! ☕️
.
I love coffee and exploring new spots and revisiting old ones is always a thrill!
.
Yes, everyone that knows me, knows that I’m c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y addicted to coffee (good coffee!) and I drink it throughout my entire day! Being Brazilian, I think it’s just a natural part of me. Ha!
.
I have friends that tell me that if they drink coffee after lunch time, they can’t sleep at night. And, that just sounds so crazy… I can literally drink a gallon on coffee at night, roll over and sleep like a baby.
.
If you are also a coffee fan, go check them out!

Stand Up For Passion (@standupforpassion): Women Who Change the Game!
.
Meet 7 women who will inspire your life and career!
***
In spite of progress in the recent years, gender equality in the workplace remains a goal to strive for, and women are underrepresented in too many fields.
.
Ensuring women are given the same professional prospects and career choices as men are an important priority of Emmanuel Macron’s government. This is the reason why on June 27th, Arnaud Collery, Stand Up for Passion and the Consulate General of France in New York (@consulfrancenyc) will give the floor to some of the women who are the drivers of this much needed cultural, social and economic change. .
Come meet scientists, media professionals, entrepreneurs and engineers who are all leaders in their fields. They will be given 7 minutes each to inspire you by sharing their own experiences and how they achieved the goals they set for themselves.

Date: June 27th
Time: 6:30pm - 9pm

Island Oysters (@islandoyster) was created by the same group that founded Grand Banks.
.
It has a beautiful tropical inspiration and opens only during the summer on Governors Island. It’s a great place to go for a chill weekend, with oyster, cocktails and a different perspective of Manhattan Island.
.
To get there, you need to catch a ferry, but it's all pretty seamless since the island is close to the southern tip of Manhattan. .
Go to the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street. It's the building next to the Staten Island Ferry Terminal and for $ 2 you buy a ticket. The experience is amazing and the view, certainly priceless!
.
Location: 146 Carder Road, Governors Island
