We get plenty of rain here in Wales

Primroses, washed by the rain and feasted on by the creepy crawlies in the garden

Left overs for supper ... the remains of yesterday's leek and pea risotto made into arancini

It's been a posh flower arrangement kind of day today , 😃happy Mother's Day to all mothers

I like the way this yarn is coming together.. I can even sort of cope with sort of cope with those mustardy colour patches ... if I focus on the other colours!

Fabric shopping

Fabric Land , getting just a little carried away with all the patterns and thinking about little summer dresses for our georgous little granddaughter .

I found an old unused @clothkits toddler dress kit on eBay ... you get a printed piece of fabric that you cut out along the correct size lines , instructions,and all the haberdashery bits and pieces that you need to make the little dress . When my children were young I bought and made the Clothkits jackets for them . This is a real 'blast from the past for me . I won't make it for a while as I will wait to see what size my little granddaughter will need in about 18months time as she will look super cute toddling around in this little dress 😃

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze. ( Or in this case no lake and in the centre of the city ! )

Last week when I took this photo ( I forgot to post it ) the weather was like spring .. today it's cold blustery and wet more like winter again 😕

Rain rain rain

MORE THAN ONE PHOTO SCROLL ACROSS .. Jane Austen was born December 16th, 1775 at Steventon, Hampshire, England (which is near Basingstoke ).. I was in the town centre of Basingstoke and came across a shop space that had a small display in the window and inside was an artist sitting on the floor quietly painting details with a small brush on a large book like structure. I was curious so went closer for a better look . What was being painted was a vast open book , the design is detailed and colourful, the page edges gold it's really rather lovely . I discovered that this open book was actually an upturned bench . Upturned so detail could be painted . This bench being painted by local artist Katy Stevens is one of 24 different benches that will be placed around Basingstoke, Winchester and other locations in Hampshire as part of some celebrations that will be happening throughout this year . This bench I'm told is most likely to be placed in the War Memorial Park in Basingstoke . If you scroll across you can see the snaps I took of the artist Katy Stevens at work . I feel very privileged to have been able to see this bench at this stage of it being decorated and I will look forward to searching it out once it's green placed in the park . The designs of these benches all of which are being painted differently and by different local artists a list of whom you can find if you look to the website
