Good morning guys! Just LOOK at those colours! ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ Itโ€™s our last show tonight from the glorious New England! So make sure you tune in at 8pm on @bbctwo for all the action! ๐Ÿงกโœจ

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™Who doesn't love a puffin?! @audubonsociety's Dr. Steve Kress started Project Puffin in the early 1970s to restore Atlantic Puffins to historic nesting islands in the Gulf of Maine. After years of effort, today more than 1,000 puffin pairs nest on five Maine islands (Eastern Egg Rock, Matinicus Rock, Seal Island NWR, Large Duck Island, and Petit Manan Island NWR). ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ You won't find Atlantic Puffins on land in autumn: other than nesting season puffins live at sea and are well adapted to this lifestyle. Go follow @audubonsociety
for more incredible bird photography.

Though the Peregrine Falcon is considered a recovered species in Vermont, its continued success is dependent on monitoring, nest site protection, and public education. Audubon Vermont works with various partners to manage these efforts.

Thanks for following along during @audubonsociety's #Autumnwatch takeover!

Good morning! Hope you all enjoyed the show last night!! And hereโ€™s a photo of the gorgeous broad-winged hawk! ๐Ÿฆ…๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜ These forest-dwelling raptors may only be small but are excellent hunters! Feeding on small mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and invertebrates. And unlike some raptors, they build a new nest each year! Beautiful!

Great Horned Owls are powerful birdsโ€”they can take on large prey like Ospreys, Peregrine Falcons, and even other owls!

@audubonsociety is excited to provide images for this weekโ€™s #Autumnwatch takeover!

This week, @audubonsociety are taking over #Autumnwatch! Stay tuned for a week full of birds and follow us for more beautiful bird photography! ๐ŸฆDid you know that because of their high fruit diet, Cedar Waxwings can sometimes become intoxicated when they come across overripe berries that have started to ferment? Autumn is a good time to keep an eye out for these birds in New England and in the UK!

Meet the American red squirrel! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ The American red is one of the smaller species of tree squirrel but itโ€™s coat can be highly variable in colours. Its tail is a lot shorter and bushier than other tree squirrels and it should not be confused with the European red!

The American red squirrel is very common across North America and are found in most areas where conifers are common! ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ

๐ŸฆHow many raccoons can you count? ๐ŸฆWe're very excited to be celebrating the art of the late Charley Harper!
A Cininnati-based Modernist artist, Charley is best known for his stylised artwork depicting wildlife and particularly birds. By rendering only the most important details, Charley says everything there is to say about his subjects in a minimal yet recognisable way.
๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŒ›We love this piece called Raccoonaissance.

Did you know that in autumn, non-migratory woodpeckers like the pileated woodpecker begin to chisel out their roosting cavities for the cold nights? ๐Ÿฆ thanks for following along during @audubonsociety's #autumnwatch takeover!

Welcome to the first of our fabulous photos as part of a very exciting week long takeover with @audubonsociety ๐Ÿ’šDuring fall moult, both male and female Northern cardinals ingest insects and fruit that are high in cartenoids, possibly to maintain their red plumage.
Thanks for following along with this week's @audubonsociety takeover.

The one and only glorious great white! ๐Ÿฆˆ๐Ÿ’™โœจ๐Ÿ˜ These FANTASTIC sharks can be found throughout the worlds oceans but mostly in cooler coastal waters and on average grow to 4.6 metres, but some have been measured at 6 metres - thatโ€™s around half the size of a double decker bus!! Their presence has been on the increase around the waters of New England and we think theyโ€™re fabulous!

Tune in tonight for ALL the action! 8pm on @bbctwo ๐Ÿ˜
