Hi Basecamp family! Here are some helpful tips for our #trainertiptuesday to help you step up your squat game. You can put these into practice on Wednesday during Trifecta.
1. Everyone’s squat stance is different. It’s not a one size fits all and your toes don’t have to be straight. In fact no two squats are the same. The goal is to find what feels comfortable and allows you the greatest rage of motion. For example it feels most comfortable for my toes to turn out, my left slightly more than my right. Play around with it and see what feels good for YOUR body.
2. Engage your core. You will want to take a big enhale into your diaphragm, hold the breath to sabilize your core and low back as you sit, exhale as you stand. Think of your breath as a balloon. This will help you keep proper elignment head, upper back, and tailbone all in one line.
3. Try to break 90 degrees this is where you will get the most bang for your buck on a squat. If you are unable to get there, keep working on flexibility and finding your squat stance! :) I hope this helps you become a stronger squatter and build a better booty!
