In a not-to-be-missed (nor sooner forgotten) communal dinner, Chef Joseph Paire (@chefjosephl) is teaming up with André Mack (@andrehmack)—named Best Young Sommelier in America—for a lively, social experience. The idea for this fun & funky brand pairing is the product of the team of Barcelona’s sister wine store, VinoTeca, always thinking outside the box. Yesterday may have been #NationalPaellaDay, but the *real* celebration is taking place next month at Barcelona Edgehill. We’re kicking off patio season with a Sunday afternoon paella grande party and interactive demo—al fresco. Chef Kevin Lalli will share the technique of preparing paella—the Spanish staple one-pan meal that consists of “bomba” rice, fragrant sauce, vegetables, and seafood, sausage (or in true Nashville fashion—chicken). The pro who shows they learned the perfect ratio of sofrito to saffron, and how to achieve the caramelized “socarrat” on the bottom of the pan, will be treated to a paella kit to show off their skills at home. Q: What are you most excited to eat/drink/see/do?
A: Most excited to take everyone to Feria de Jerez! We'll get all dressed up, visit one of the most significant sherry producers for a private tour and tasting, have dinner with our hosts, then go experience the festivities. It will be so fun.
