Dear Diary,
Yesterday @sillypandabear4 commented “you go girl” on my insta post and it made me feel happy. So I made this for her.
Sarah B.

I have dreamt about taking my hand-lettering hobby more seriously for a longggg time. But fear always stood in the way of doing anything more than dreaming. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of looking dumb, etc etc blahdy blah. But instead of waiting until I have everything figured out and am not scared anymore (because, let’s be real, I will never get there), I decided to take the first step toward this dream. Just start. (We’ll see what happens next!! 😬🤗😭🙃)

Six years ago he told me he was going to marry me one day. And six years ago I told him we were just friends. Over the last six years, he has pursued & loved me like crazy and shown me more and more of Jesus. I am so thankful for this man and can't wait for him to be my husband (WHAT THE HECK?!)!

❗️WARNING❗️This post may be shocking to some!!!!! 😱I have officially decided to go against the rules of society. Society says: DON'T WEAR SOCKS WITH SANDALS. But I say: my feet are always cold so I want to wear socks, but sometimes just need to step outside or leave in a hurry and don't want to put on normal shoes. Society also says: paint goes on canvases and poems are supposed to rhyme. I say: I want to paint on other things like journals and this whole post was actually a poem!

I want to see God more in the big things & the little things. The fun things & the hard things. To be more aware of His presence each day. To actually give thanks in all circumstances.
So I'm gonna get after it. (Step one: Decorate a new journal. Definitely necessary.)

My beautiful cousin is getting married, we got to celebrate all weekend, and *BONUS* I'll gain an Australian cousin who can help me with my Aussie accent!! MUCH WEDDING VERY YAY!!

Thank you @onpaperohio for the chalkboard writing workshop!! I had so much fun learning from Cassie about design and lettering - if I get my life organized because of my new chalkboard schedule, I'll give you guys all the credit ☝️

My cozy little corner of Columbus.

AH SNAP WAIT WHAT?! Oh, hello. This is the other side of my room. Comin' atchya live filled with bags I haven't unpacked from California, old decorations from Thanksgiving, an unorganized closet, mail I haven't gone through, and a whole lot of other stuff that makes up a big ol' mess that I conveniently hid in my previous post. That's because messes aren't pretty & they aren't fun to share about, so we hide them and we get justttt the right camera angle to make sure everything in our life looks perfect. And I'm a fan of appreciating good pictures, but I think it's important to do so while keeping in mind that it isn't completely reality & there's usually more to the posts than people choose to share. And to try as hard as possible not to compare your life (which you know every good and bad detail of), to the edited highlights of someone else's.
Maybe I'm the only one who finds this challenging sometimes. But just in case I'm not, I wanted to show how easy it is to hide the messy things in our lives & maybe help someone see Instagram a little differently. If not, at least now you know what my room looks like!

Happy birthday to the one person I know who can eat more guacamole than me.
And to the person who gives endless amounts of encouragement, grace, truth & love.
This person is Mechelle. She is the one in the picture.
Love you, Mech!

I have only been raising support to do college ministry for three short weeks. But I've learned that three weeks is enough time start feeling pretty overwhelmed by fears & insecurities - ones that were expected & ones I never knew I had.
But I've learned that three weeks is also more than enough time to experience God's nearness and faithfulness in new ways and on deeper levels than ever before. And that makes it all more than worth it. \\
"But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works."
Psalm 73:28
// [Side note: I also learned that if you want to take a picture of your painting but don't know how, you can just throw it down on the gravel/leaves and it works out okay!]

Double the chins, double the happy.
