I'm really worried about Bailey at the moment. That's also why I wasn't active the past few days.
On the weekend I noticed a bulge the size of about 8 mm on his back and there was no fur at that spot. Today I went to the vet. I was just so scared what it was, because I had already had a guinea pig once who had a tumor at the same spot, so I was already expecting the worst. The vet told me, that it is "only" an atheroma/sebaceous cyst and removed the sebaceous stuff (I don't know the correct translation). She told me, that it is normal for the atheroma to come back pretty often and then I would just have to put it open with a abacterial needle and remove the sebaceous stuff all over again until it doesn't come back anymore, which could basically be for the rest of his life.
Reading about all of that on several internet pages and forums all afternoon I only read that you should NEVER try to remove that by yourself and now I am totally unsure what to do.
I don't wanna hurt him but I also know that it gets worse when the stuff doesn't get removed and the bulge will get bigger and bigger.
Has anybody experienced this or knows what to to in this situation?
Then PLEASE give me advice on what to do because I am just so worried about my baby. 😔
