Bad Seed Brewing  Brewery in Aalborg, Denmark. Bold, flavourful and easy drinking beers is our mission.

We spent the day with our good friends @aabenbryg brewing a NEIPA with rye, oats, Simcoe, Ekuanot and Mosaic. Should be a home run, right?

Fermentors are in place, and it's beginning to look like a brewery! Soon... beers!

Here's an update from me about what's been going on in past few months.

I'm extremely excited to announce the release of the first ever bottled Bad Seed beers! Released this week are:

Barrel Aged Good Morning, Vietnam - 8,3% our highly acclaimed Good Morning, Vietnam - a stout with vietnamese coffee and lactose - was put to rest on whisky barrels from @stauningwhisky and aged for 5 months. The beer was bottled in september 2017, and allowed to condition in the bottle until now, when it is at its peak, and ready for drinking. Out in 33 cl bottles

Odyssey & Oracle - 5,8% - a Belgian-style saison, primary fermentation with a classic Belgian saison yeast, then moved to oak barrels and inoculated with brettanomyces and lactobaccilus and barrel aged for 15 months. The beer was bottled in January 2017, carbonated in the bottle, and conditioned until now, when the flavors are at their prime. Available in 37,5 cl and 75 cl bottles

Both beers are ready to drink, and need no further aging, but will continue to evolve in the bottle.

So far, they will be available in bottle shops in Jylland (Aalborg, Aarhus, Bjerringbro and Kolding) now, and later this week in Copenhagen and on the following webshops: @kihoskh_webshop @mikkellerwebshop

After operating as a phantom brewer for two and a half years, Bad Seed Brewing is taking the plunge, and I am opening my own brewery!

I have dreamed of this ever since the first batch of homebrew I brewed in the kitchen, and I am so excited that it is actually happening!

The brewery will be located close to Aalborg - which is my hometown. I purchased a 20 hectolitre brewing system along with three 20 hectoliter fermentors, which will make it possible for Bad Seed Brewing to produce around 75.000 litres on a yearly basis.

Bad Seed Brewing is all about producing bold, flavorful, and drinkable beers that bring people together, and I am grateful for this opportunity to provide even more beer.

I have enjoyed working with the very talented people at Ølsnedkeren and Ølkollektivet, and brewing my beers at their breweries - but the dream has always been to open up my own brewery and to expand and develop Bad Seed Brewing further - so this is a huge step for Bad Seed Brewing.

The timeline is set for starting production around July, and having the first house-brewed beers ready by August (knock on wood, right?). Until then, I will continue brewing beers at Ølsnedkeren to keep a flow of fresh beers available while I build the brewery.

Presenting JUNGLE BOOGIE (5%) and BOOGIE JUICE (5%)
Two session IPA's originating from the same wort, but fermented separately, with different treatments in the fermentor.
JUNGLE BOOGIE is dry hopped with 5 gr/L of Mosaic hops, and has 18 gr/L of Mango added at the late stage of fermentation. That's the very hazy one.
BOOGIE JUICE contains no fruit, but is dry hopped with 10 gr/L of Mosaic. That's the other one.
We added lactose to the main wort, to accentuate the body and to help bring out those tropical, juicy fruit flavors.
These two beers are an exploration of fruitiness from hops and from actual fruits.
Being kegged this week, and going out to your favorite bars on Friday! Cheers!

Hops going into a new IPA called ⚡ Tesla Coil ⚡ - our first brew of 2018

Lots of Simcoe backed up by Ekuanot and Columbus on top of a soft base of oats, wheat and cara pale malts, and then fermented with a Vermont style yeast.
We should end up with a nice and dank, piney and tropical fruity IPA at around 6,2-ish%
