Now that I've had a few days to digest it all and my love is home safe and sound, here are some lessons life has handed me after 5 very scary days spent on this floor.
1. Life is fleeting. It's certainly far too short to spend it being miserable. It's too beautiful to do anything other than drench every waking moment in love.
2. Our perception shapes our reality. We don't get to choose what happens or how we feel, but we are completely in control of how we react. We always have two choices: shrink in fear, or grow in love.
3. My fiancé is actually superman. His strength and his spirit never cease to amaze me. We are beyond blessed that we get to spend our lives together.
4. Nurses are angels. ANGELS. I don't know how they do it, but I'm so grateful for them.
5. All is well.
