77-year-old Maria Jimenez reunites her daughter Rosalua Valencia. This is the first time they'd seen each other in years.
All around them at Our Lady of Fatima parish in Tucson, similar reunions were taking place. The 32 men and women were in the U.S. on a program that allows Mexican citizens over 60 years old to visit loved ones here illegally for 30 days.
For many this trip will also likely be the last time they see each other. "We believe this program is fundamental, and it's the most noble program we have," said an official from the Mexican state of Guanajuato, which organized the trip.
