Real talk: I used to secretly go out late at night by myself and run through the Mcdonalds drive thru to get at least ten items, anxiously peering out my window to make sure nobody I knew was around. I would then park somewhere in the dark, still making sure no one saw me, and proceed to scarf down all the food within 10 minutes, not really even stopping for air. Why? Because I was literally starving. I had restricted myself to the point that I would've done anything to just eat however many calories I could get my hands on. I was embarrassed about what I ate behind closed doors, would only eat "clean" during the day or in front of friends, then feel shame and guilt after going out for a late night fast food run. Don't be that girl this weekend. It's not fun, nor is it healthy. Make choices that will lead to good workouts, to good mental health, and ultimately help you reach whatever goal you're trying to reach. Do you want a burger and fries this weekend? Or maybe a donut covered in sprinkles? Yeah, me too πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ So go have that if it will still lead to a positive attitude. Maybe you will make it fit your macros, maybe you won't. But ultimately your choices this weekend should make you feel good and sane and happy. No more shameful drive thru scenes for this girl. Nobody is analyzing the fact that you don't know how to use a machine, that you're only using 3lb weights, that you have no idea what you're doing on that stairclimber. Okay I'm all for the silicone wedding rings while working out, but more often than not, I forget it or lose it or, let's be honest, sometimes it just doesn't match my workout outfit πŸ˜‚ I love wearing my engagement ring because I'm dang proud of it and I LOVE to wear it at all times (mostly because I freak out that I lost it somewhere πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ if I don't have it on). Ya know how couples take "babymoons" before they have their baby? (Yes that's a thing) Well...Brad and I are taking a "weddingmoon" before our wedding πŸ˜‚ because we're spoiled beyond belief by his amazing parents! We were supposed to head to the Keys for a week in October, but Irma cancelled that πŸ™…πŸ½ so plan B is taking a cruise!!!! Three weeks can't go by fast enough! Biggest takeaway from this photo is DIET- I did CrossFit for seven years, loved it, still love it but I'd rather not pay an arm and a leg for it when I have coached and can program for myself. Now I've done Bodybuilding for over two years and love that too, especially because nowadays I have more time to spend training than in the past! I believe that the majority of my muscle, especially my shoulders and quads, were built through competitive CrossFit training and Olympic lifting. Sure, Bodybuilding has helped. But It took a special diet to actually reveal that underlying muscle with a certain leanness I was not achieving through paleo, zone, clean eating, or severe calorie restriction. Believe me, I tried everything. Then I found IIFYM and it is absolutely what works for me right now, for my lifestyle and training routine. I stopped eating high fat, I eat the things I desire with limited cravings, stopped having daily stomach aches, started actually dissecting what my food choices were made up of and being precise about them. I feel in control of my body, my food intake, happy with my body, and I have sufficient energy to train the way I want. Again, if you learn anything from this post it is that diet is extremely important. Real talk: When I first met Brad, I thought he was a total meathead. He liked to flex in the mirror, have his shirt off, he talked about himself πŸ˜‚, he ate protein bars- things I knew nothing about being a CrossFit girl πŸ™„. The truth is, when I got past that masculine tough shell of a man I found a Christ-lover, an inspiring intelligence, a person who gives to others without second thought, the kind of silliness that still baffles me a bit, and THEE kindest and gentlest soul. So naturally, I had to keep him. And naturally, I will fight against ANYTHING that tries to drag him down in life πŸ™…πŸ½ That's my job!
