AEROPRESS WORKSHOP *UPDATE: SOLD OUT*

September 20th
6pm-7pm

I will be putting on regular coffee workshops now that all the competitions are finished.
This first one will be a beginners class for those curious about making Aeropress coffee at home. I will be doing a more advanced level workshop two weeks after that. $20

Send me a DM or email me at info@aubadecoffee.com to reserve a spot. Classes are small so spots are limited.

Winnipeg was definitely a pleasant surprise. Pound for pound the best coffee city I have been to in Canada. Every single shop was beautifully designed, independant and served up great coffee.
There are certainly some gems in Calgary and Vancouver, yet I have never experienced a coffee scene outside Melbourne and Berlin where every shop really nailed it to such an extent. I would even be so bold as to say that the scene here is even better than Vancouver.
While many shops still have to do vanilla syrup and such because the scene is so new, other places were doing great food, lovely curated retail sections, and even serving single malt whiskey.
Highlight was probably Dogwood where the Aeopress competition was held because of the very beautiful space that has a Probat roaster, and shares a building with a co-work space, cocktail bar, art gallery and even rooftop bar. They only do manual brew coffee and espresso, and the food was top notch.
Thom Bargen (featured in the photo) was also a favorite for it's beautiful decor and great coffee.

I'm really good at consistently being *almost* the best coffee brewer in the country.
Thanks again to the hosts @dogwoodcoffee, the sponsors, @eightouncecoffee, all the judges and my fellow competitors.
You'll definitely see this bearded face at next year's comp.

While I am away in Winnipeg, the coffee shop will still be open and serving coffee.

Sunday 10-3 TAKEOVER

We had such a good response from the last Well and Good Coffee Takeover that we are doing it again on Sunday.
Nate Welland will be serving up coffee roasted by himself, and brewed on aeropress.

A look at he Queensland Regional Aeropress Competition that AESIR Filters sponsored. Very stoked that all three finalists used my filters, including the winner @frasersings who is off to Sydney this weekend for the Australian Nationals. Good luck!

Looks like @jwalhain and the team at @wolffroasters pulled off a great event.

First go with the Kenya Gakuyu-Ini competition coffee for the Canadian @aero.press Championship.
Tasting per-etty good. Did a ton of experimenting with water composition and grinding with other coffees before hand, so should only need a few tweeks.
Almost ready for you Winnipeg.

The takeover is on now. Nate Welland is serving up a lovely Ethiopian Guji on aeropress today, along with some housemade kombucha. @annabellechoistudio will also be selling some of her amazing pastries until they are sold out.
One of the things holding back the growth of Vancouver's coffee seen is not only the difficulties in starting an independant coffee shop (Vancouver is notoriously anti-small business), but even more so roasteries, which are very expensive to set up.
Nate will be one of the great new boutique roasters in Vancouver, and now is the time to come check out his coffee.

COFFEE SHOP TAKEOVER

September 4th, 10-4

My good friend Nate Welland (get it!?) is an awesome roaster with aspirations of having his own roasting company in the future, and I'm hoping this will be the first step.
He will be serving up a lovely Ethiopian coffee on Aeropress that he roasted. I've tried it, it's great.
Pastries from the incomparable @annabellechoistudio will be available until she sells out.
Please come by for a delicious coffee and pastry.

Surprise, coffee!
Got a lovely sample pack of coffees tontry this morning from the award winning @onyxcoffeelab from Arkansas.
Looking forward to giving them a try with my new @comandantegrinder
