.... all the colours money can buy and in the end they don't come close to the rawness of a chrome. It's just graffiti ๐ŸŒด

...caution wear... in the early 90s, before the term street-wear, before the internet, before we knew what we were doing .... defwish zeekus and I started this label. We were very young... completely inexperienced with producing a clothing label and had close to zero industry knowledge buttttt.... we were pretty excited... ! pretty sure and confident we were creating really good ideas and more importantly ... learning and loving everything about itโšก๏ธ making clothes ... printing designs it was all another outlet ... โšก๏ธ We were hip hop. Between the 3 of us we were into it. Writing . Rapping . Breaking . Djing . And had been for a while already. This time had a lot of that emotion and excitement that comes with building new things, fun things ... no fears .... it wasn't about money or fame ... we were just so excited for the next load of designs to drop .. seeing people we didn't know rock them and then keep going. We were probably a few years early and at the same time probably needed a few more years to keep it rolling but all in all...everything about it was a goodtime. #cautionwear #goodtimes #theboogie #preinternet #streetwear #battle #apache #bboys

... ๐ŸŒด... simple styles simple colours.... ๐ŸŒด it's true, we are all completely spoilt for colour choice these days. Every brand has a full range, the multiple shades and then the tech cans to add more and more and more ... ! still, the science of color selection ... using colours that don't work but then do work... using that one can that activates everything ... the whole colour thing ....it's another dimension for the piece and the mental. ... . Can you pull off a burner with the ugliest set ? ... pinks browns black with dirty greens ... a spot of white maybe ? I actually love it. Ive always been into color and I can def say some of my better styled pieces came off sideways by bad colour choices and vise versa... some of the more simpler stuff looked better by the use of eye candy colours... . ๐Ÿญ the last few years I've used a lot of ironlak. Yes the quality isn't at the Montana black or belton levels but the guys making it know about pressure and they also know about offering up colours that stray a little left or right of the norm. It was also at a great price point here in oz where somehow $10+ a can became the norm.... that said, this one is all lak. Some not so friendly colours mixed with some very friendly colours... I liked it when I did it. I like it a bit more these days.. bit ugly to go with a pretty simple style ...it's definitely not popping popping and probably not going to get applause from the streetart fans buuuut minus the flicks arrows and connectos I like it for the graffiti it is... 1 NYC fat cap 1 blue dot ... not so techy .... a few good ideas in the letters and a few not so happy happy colours and big hit of flirt pink ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ„ #goodtimes #crack #theboogie

.. simples .. I always try and stick to the sketch as much as possible so the basic idea or flow of the piece falls into place... then there's the 'feeling'... the wall and how it all sits... sometimes things are added... shapes are bent... and you see where or how you can re-connect or throw a shape.... other times... you just do simples to get some flow .... each time though.... I'm always thinking about the present.. matched with what or how Ive done something in the past .. and then where this ones going... .... then there's 'the beat' that sometimes drives the rhythm. Simple straight letters can be funky too... minus the arrows minus the fold in fold out minus the interconnecting outer connecting minus the overworked everything actually... just simple funky straights like the old white men who can jump funk ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŽ‰

....odd colours. Scraps . 1 blue dot. 1 nyfat. a simplish style outline and about 3 hours between meetings about meetings... ๐ŸŒด I'm not the neatest painter out there.. not super techy... not overly into special effects either... my stuff is in the vein of that NYC subway art new york style that sparked my interest and influenced me from day dot. That pure subway art funk. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ I do think about color a lot though. Simple color combos to other sets that would not normally work but somehow do.. today we are all so soiled with choice. 10+ shades of 1 colour and so many brands with so many variations ... it's still a science... for me its still very much part of the overall thought process .... mental stamina... and then you do a one color or silver that just burns everything ... then it's back the to the think tank... taking section shots was another thing I always loved... not just to focus on style or connections but in the whole color thinking process too... a lot of thinking ... maybe too much at times ... maybe even over thinking .. but, again we're so spoiled for choice soooo how long is a piece of string right ! ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด #colorscolorscolors #goodtimes #graf #pink #theboogie

As writes we literally write our names 1000s of times. Some more stylish than others but nonetheless we're all 'doodling'... a lot ! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
A friend of mine was always asking me to do a page in his black book and for me it's one of the few things in graf i never really took to. I love sketching but full color pages I just never did. I'm always amazed by some of the pages I see ... dudes these days are just sick with it ! One night after a quick balcony chill, I rolled out something similar to this in his book and dug it ... It's not stylised tags or even attempting to be but it's almost everything that graf is for me.... repetition colour combos ... obsessive compulsive orderly disorder overthinking boarderline insanity smiles crack boogie ...but still ... always trying something ... always smiling . This particular one was also part of a series that represent a good moment in time .. a good headspace in time and a good period of development of ideas and a small body of work that was really different to what I normally produce. #goodtimes #graffiti #smiles #crack #theboogie

Sayonara summer .... ๐ŸŒด my last coast line ride took me to this amazing spot on the north side of Sydney. I painted these boards here a few years ago as part of my 'I'm board' project. I have to say, it was definitely one of the best small projects I have done over time.... looking for ways to keep enthused.... looking for ways to paint different objects that wouldn't be too corny... this one was the second of a 3 set jammy .... @realkatalyst had hooked me up with 2 boards... from there @jamaz811 and I were on a bit of a blind mission... get the 3rd board and find a random beach where we could set this up... yep... 'find' a beach...... we found this spot by a bit of chance... once we decided it was good to go... of corse the clouds rolled in... big heavy party poopers..... but we had the gear, we had the moment... it was a 'ah fxxk it let's go' move.... annnnd as it played out.... the clouds rolled out... the blue skies tuned it on and got it done. We almost couldn't believe it worked out like it did. The mission that the day was .... the search for the remaining board and then beach .... the clouds ... the blue skies .... and then this ! Jamazo put the video together which is amazing and we were then onto the next ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด this one though... still my favourite. I'm still board at times still looking for adventures ... still doodling and trying to bend a flex the letters like we do . . ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒด #goodtimes #imboard #sydneynorthernbeaches #reminisce #summerstyle

... simples... ๐ŸŒด these were another set of pieces I had a lot of fun doing. Medium size Korean BBQ styles that mixed sliced straight letters with the usual spiced up condiments of fun. The ideas behind these were to create simpler styles that all came from using a few outlines that I turned upside down sideways reversed inverted and then slice up again. Some kind of worked well .. some not so, but it was definitely nice to see letters created out of shapes that came from my other letters that weren't really related ๐ŸŽถ. This particular one I liked at the time. It was a little off balance but I liked that too ... about 5 different brands of paint that I hoped would gel, mostly scraps, and 2 trusty caps that brought all the wonkiness together..... at one point looking back it looked a little strange but everything I thought was strange I actually like for what it is..... I had a Thievery corporation mix on the head phones which also ended up being the hour glass for the piece to stop me from excessively fiddling around ๐Ÿ„

Bondi beach boogie๐ŸŒด I grew up very far away from Bondi beach but in the early 80s I began school in Bondi and it's fare to say it was the opposite of everything I knew. Through that time and via class mates who live by the beach, I was lucky enough to see first hand some of the first pieces on the promenade, in the pavilion and of corse one of my all time favourites - the 'crime in style' at north Bondi. In my opinion, some of the best writers in those formative years were from the eastern suburbs. I was really only exposed to them at that time but that's how it felt and that was also the impression it left on me. It was 10 years later in 1994, that I painted the promenade for the first time and have been lucky to have done so quite a lot since then. It's one of those places that I loved painting. We did a lot over the years... had a lot of laughs, took a few over seas legends down their and made some great new friends and painting partners too. It's a very different place these days but like everything .... things change.๐Ÿท this was one of the simpler funner pieces I did early one morning as the sun was just coming up. Only surfers, joggers the odd seagull and bukem on the beats. Not pretty street art, not friendly I love Bondi imagery... just Graffiti .... like I always loved seeing as a kid all those years earlier. ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด #boogie #goodtimes #bondibeach #reminisce #namaste

by 1994 I'd been to New York a bunch of times already. Each time was as exciting as the last and jam packed with adventures that were good bad and ugly. When you get off the plane at jfk, New York hits you almost instantly. The city has this smell... this buzzz ... for people like us it seems like the place is sprinkled with magic dust. Everything is magnified everything is electric everything is glowing and for the most part you don't want to seem like a tourist but it's hard to keep the smile off your face. I met a lot of people .. and everyone had something worth listening to... something to learn from ... stories and experiences of life in their city ... plus and minus the gloss .....Graf wise it was much the same... a lot of good people a lot of wise words a lot of history ... there's guys out here that have done a million more than me than you than most of us... the one thing all of them shared was consistency.... people will get uptight about style and what they think is good or bad or whatever but really, who gives a shit ... as long as you dig what your doing you just gotta keep doing it ! Do it and then do it some more ....... and of corse the key to sanity ....make sure you have a smile & laugh along the way ..... the good the bad and the ugly ...... ๐ŸŒด ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒด#goodtimes #reminisce #nyc #boogie
