The longest 4 hours of my life.
Within those hours I’d had my home invaded, a knife to my throat, been blindfolded, kidnapped, rode around in a car trunk, threatened, terrorized, raped & discovered I’d been stalked.
Oddly enough, the aftermath was worse, but that’s another story.
The 1st pic was taken a week before.
The 2nd a few hours ago.
Suffice it to say, I don’t look like what I’ve been through.
I know God is real, living and on the throne because there is no way in hell I should be alive and functional, let alone, thriving!! There was a higher purpose for my attack. I’ve gained so much from it; in ways you can’t even imagine.
I’m grateful to still be here.
I’ve been a wife. I am a mother. I have my health & my sanity. I have the love & support of my family & real friends. And, most importantly, I can testify to the love, mercy, protection, provision and deliverance of the Most High.
I thank God everyday for every day. He didn’t have to do it.
I especially want to thank:
• My Aunt Sharon for being there by the time I woke up, because you had to see me with your own eyes • My brother, Tremaine, for dropping everything & ignoring the naysayers to be there when I needed him the most. • My Mother & grandparents for their love, prayers & watchfulness • My sisters, Utica , Chantel & Tamida for the years of love, patience, support, listening ears & shoulders to cry on • My sisters LaQuisha Anthony @iam_thevoice , Tee Elitou (Tweety Elitou) & Lynette Medley for being safe havens to share my story openly • The ones who turned their backs and doubted me. You, too, were a part of God’s plan.
And to that 2006 Kristin, “...Woman now. I love the girl I used to be. Every step she took was reaching out to me. Every breath a blessed responsibility. We made it, baby.” #12YearsASurvivor
