We are raising money to enhance our beautiful 18th century Grade II* listed building. Please share and donate if you can.

The Art Workers' Guild is a registered charity that advances education in all the visual arts and crafts. Our building is essential to the Guild's successful functioning, and the completion of this project will ensure we are able to fulfil its users' expectations. Not only is the building used for Guild meetings, which bring together practitioners to share their work and their vision. We also host some 70 kindred arts-based organisations, many of which have been spawned by the Guild. About 25 - 30,000 people use the building every year to attend educational lectures and study groups on the visual and decorative arts and crafts. We have raised nearly £125,000 towards this project, and with your help we will meet our final target of £165,000, so that work on this project can begin.

PM Ian Beck and PM Peyton Skipwith at last nights Guild meeting reading extracts from Peyton's new book 'Dear Edward', detailing he and Edward Bawden's correspondence and giving a fascinating insight into a largely vanished age. The book will be published by the Hand & Eye Press in the early autumn

PM Skipwith was Edward Bawden's dealer for the last twenty years of his life, from the late 1960s up until Bawden's death in November 1989. These two decades can be seen as possibly the last period in which the art market functioned on a personal level: friendship, trust and loyalty between dealer and artist were at its root.
