"As I was reading the script for “Monster Hunter" I saw the press release for ARRI's new large format camera and instantly knew the ALEXA LF was the right camera for this project. “Monster Hunter" is a fun action movie shot in epic locations with vast landscapes. We shot in the deserts of South Africa as well as the massive rock formations and epic sand dunes of Namibia. I needed a camera that could do these locations justice and also allow me to photograph our leading actors with intimacy and immediacy. I am extremely pleased with the results."

With a big opening ceremony at the @akademiederkuenste in Berlin #Bauhaus celebrated the beginning of its 100th anniversary year. The festival was opened by German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and streamed live The multi-camera live production was captured by @institut_fuer_bildbewegung and director Thomas Janze with @ruptly broadcast technology, including four #ARRI #AMIRA and two #ALEXAMini cameras mounted on two @blackcamsystem. "One" directed by @lukebradford_art_film for @directors_uk and #ARRI Challenge TRINITY Competition. Luke Bradford commented: "The challenge laid down was to tell a short story in one continuous uninterrupted shot. Our sequence involved three costume & hair changes plus three full set changes in the space of six minutes. It was a ballet between the #ALEXAMini with #ARRISignaturePrimes lens mounted on a TRINITY, the cast and 17 stage hands. We had a race against time with the falling sun but we achieved our shot on take 21. I wanted to really test the TRINITY and it didn’t disappoint! It provided us with a unique fluid solution with instant high to low angles and the ability to squeeze around tight spaces which created dynamic composition. Operated by the talented @motionhead the flexibility of the setup enhanced the storytelling for sure. I can’t wait to work with the ARRI team again." Photos by @photo.layne

'The Letter' is a single shot film produced as part of Challenge TRINITY by Directors UK and ARRI. It tells the real life story of Andre and his dream to become a ballet dancer. Director Diego Barraza’s imaginative story was visualized through the ARRI Signature Primes lens on ARRI ALEXA Mini stabilized by TRINITY, harmonizing complex camera moves and dancer’s choreography into a unique visual experience.

Set in a surface mine, two boys sink into a seemingly innocent power game with Mother Nature as the sole observer.
“I wanted to reflect a naive and cruel childhood in the tone of ‘Fauve’: raw and gritty while capturing the immersive texture of the environment. In the beginning, a light handheld camera (on a gimbal) was kept low to bring in the spectator like a child themselves, until the film hit a point of no-return, switching to crane movements and locked off tripod to accentuate a feeling of claustrophobia.” – Director Jérémy Comte .
“We knew early on we would use one of the ALEXA family cameras partly because when shooting with natural summer light in this very open landscape, dynamic range is crucial to keep smooth tones and contrast. We went for the Mini because we had the camera on a gimbal a lot. When it was not, it was on sticks in some steep, remote or muddy parts of the landscape. The 76th annual Golden Globe awards took place yesterday. We are very pleased to see that many winning films were produced with #ARRI equipment, including Best Motion Picture – Drama “Bohemian Rhapsody,” shot with the #ALEXA65 and DNA lenses (exclusive to @arri_rental), as well as the ALEXA SXT for certain scenes. “Green Book,” captured with #ALEXAMini, was awarded Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. Best Motion Picture – Foreign Language went to “Roma,” an entry from Mexico shot with the ALEXA 65. The film’s director, Alfonso Cuarón, won Best Director – Motion Picture this year. ARRI’s ALEXA camera system was also behind the Best Television Series – Drama winner, “The Americans.” ARRI congratulates all the #goldenglobes winners!
