Alright guys, it’s time to have a serious chat and #DoSomething about youth mental health. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety when I was 18, and I’ve been dealing with it every day of my life. It’s something that has become manageable with help and support, but I know that it will never fully go away. There are so many people out there suffering from mental health issues and there’s an organization in Canada doing a tremendous amount of work to empower youth all across the country to end the stigma and create communities of support for one another. On December 1st, @surfthegreats and @jackdotorg are organizing ‘Brainfreeze’—a polar bear dip to revolutionize youth mental health. There will be plunges happening simultaneously in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, and you can also create your own plunge with your friends and families if you don’t live in any of those cities. Head to the link in bio now, join the plunge or consider donating to myself or any other participant. Together, we can change the lives of many and end the stigma around mental health. 📷 @lucasmurnaghan

Catching bombs in toronto is no easy task, but riding waves that one doesn’t take for granted has no price. So grateful to live in a country with so much to offer, and to be in a city filled with opportunities for those who dare to think outside the box and who don’t undermine the power of a Great Lake. 📷@lucasmurnaghan

8 years ago I went on my first surf & yoga retreat in Montezuma and my life began to radically change. A change in my career path, in mental health care, and most importantly, a change towards building a community that would allow me to live my most honest truth. Fast forward to 2018 and 10 retreats and surf camps under my belt, I'm proud to present you with the work I do... Imagine spending 7 days somewhere where perfect waves break non-stop, where support and encouragement create a safe space for you to learn, practice and push yourself further than you've ever been. A place where mindfulness, movement and surfing are of equal importance and every single one can't exist without the other. Now stop imagining and head to the link in bio, because this not only exists but it's yours to live. Join us for a trip of a lifetime in Montezuma in February, or in Chicama in March, and give yourself permission to live your most authentic truth. 🎥@jakekovnat

This past summer, @acehillbeer, @swimguide, and @studiosophomore produced a video series to highlight stories about Lake Ontario. I was humbled to receive a call with an invitation to participate. For one of the episodes, I got to meet @madhu.nagaraja, a local legend who's been nurturing and inspiring a community of swimmers around here. We got out on the water to share our love for the Great Lakes and the crew captured everything and put together a beautiful video. Head to the link in my bio to watch the entire series! 📷@payneriel

11 years ago, I asked @lucasmurnaghan on a date with me. He was my plus one at a good friend's wedding in Lake Tahoe. So much time has passed since then, so many adventures, and so many sunsets, and here we are, continuously loving, evolving and learning how to grow older together...

Just another day doing what I love in Ontario. Celebrating freshwater and life in a province with endless opportunities for those who don't take it for granted. 📷@lucasmurnaghan

The true voyage of discovery is not to look for new landscapes, but to see with new eyes. —Proust

A little bit of perspective on the vastness of Ontario. Having lived here for the past decade, I feel like I've only scratched the surface of the places to explore. The Peninsula has always been the place that excites me the most. Vast untouched forests and idyllic landscapes shaped by the Canadian shield. This capture makes me wonder what lies north of here, where all roads come to an end and isloated lakes become the runway for the explorer's floatplane... @surfthegreats @lucasmurnaghan @jared.murphy @mec_nation @discoverontario Music by A. Mastering the art of being... of letting go of worries and the uncontrollable, even if for short period of times. Practicing awareness and radical acceptance of the present moment. I am, right here, right now.

Because sometimes you just need to face your fears head on, and climb one step higher before you jump into the unknown...

Stoke level high!!! After several months of non-stop work, our new shop & cafe @surfthegreats is open to the public and I finally get to take a few days off to rest and recharge for our surf season. None of this would be possible without all the support from everyone from near and far. Thanks for all your encouragement on good days, and especially on days when one can't see the light... Much more to come! 📷@lucasmurnaghan
