I ran to grab some tea and snacks and as usual a story... I walked into the store past a kid with a longboard, a backpack and summer clothes on. Although it was 71° today, it has been cold at night, so I knew something wasn't right. I asked him if he was okay, he said yes but had no place to go and no money. As a New Yorker I am used to those stories and well, even worse. I gave him a few bucks but I wasn't okay with just that. I drove home, grabbed the clothes to donate and went back. He had told me he had a jacket and would be good but as soon as I handed him the bag, with a sweater that didn't fit in it in my hand, he smiled and started to put it on.
People need people. He needed me as much as I needed him. I am celebrating this week b/c I made a career move and it actually worked out! I am now grounded with the fact that my celebration tea and snacks lead to helping a life. A life that knows people care, a life that will be warmer tonight and a life that will never give up even after you do.. #TheLight#JesusArmy#BeKind#Ask#Help
