Me, talking to organizers, in a UP Architecture event where Maricel was a guest, almost 27 yrs ago (My 1st encounter with her!): “Guys, bigyan niyo naman ng Coke yung guest natin. Mukhang uhaw na eh.
(From the side) Maricel’s mom (My 1st encounter, too!): “Hindi umiinom ng softdrinks yan. Bilhan niyo ng taho.”
Me: “Ah ganun po ba mam...Taho!! Halika nga, isang baso para sa guest natin.”
Taho vendor (after preparing): “Eto po.” Me: “Sandali...” (I open my wallet...walang pera!)
Maricel’s mom: “Ako na. Eto. (Hands over P5)
After the event, Maricel’s mom to Maricel: “Yan ang gusto kong mapangasawa mo!” (Clarification: she wasn’t referring to the taho vendor : )
On our 25th year, still so much to discover about this lady. But still very much committed to stay married. Congratulations newly weds John and Tahnee Pangilinan, and now, Javier! 530 am Antipolo wedding, with coffee and Taho served for...cocktails! Perfect! Coffee, taho, cocktails, marriage: nasa timpla lang yan, guided by Jesus, the Master Mixologist, one event, one day, one season at a time.
