I'm so jealous of all you lovely people going to @Yarndale this weekend, but I've sent my designs there in lieu. Look on the @baarameweknits stand for the Parsnips and Carrots cowls, and at @edencottageyarns for Polder and Saltmarsh. I'd be so thrilled to see them in your Yarndale photos. Buy the yarn from Verity and Victoria and then log on to Ravelry or @loveknittingcom to download the patterns. Xx

I'm glad I waited for the mail today as my ticket to @bletchleyparkuk arrived. I'm looking forward to seeing the Tyrolean cardigan somewhere on site. I'll be sure to post all about it and if you see it before me, please let me know! πŸ˜€

I pulled out lots of design and tension swatches from my filing cabinet to display for the open studios event on Saturday. I like looking at them so much I'm going to keep them up there for a while. πŸ˜€

I hope to see you at our open studios event at 37 Queen Street tomorrow. Come along and see the award winning building which integrates new design with original details like this and don't forget to stop in at 208 and say hello. πŸ˜€

On Saturday the studios at 37 Queen Street will be open for you all to look round, including mine. 11 till 4, with a bar, tours by former police officers and African drumming. In the main reception area, of course, not all in my studio! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Today I'm admiring these 4 amazing skeins which will possibly form 3 of my next group of #ebbandflow designs. Part of the design process for me is reflection - I'm going to take some time and let these yarns tell me what they want to be knitted up into. After that will come the swatching and sketching (though not necessarily in that order) before finally making the items. 😁

Popped over to the open studios event at Hylands House in Chelmsford today - this is where @georgiafarrelldesign has her studio and she came to see mine in July so I returned the favour today. It was a great day out as there were local and French farmer's markets on, and the house was free to look round as part of the heritage weekend too. Also, in the courtyard the artists were holding workshops in pompom-making, painting and encaustic art for everyone to have a go.

But most exciting of all - I got a sneak preview of Georgia's fabulous book of architecture-inspired knits, due out soon. It is so stylish, the photos are super cool, and the designs are amazing. She's hiding the book behind her back in this photo - turn your pc/phone/tablet round and you might see it! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Remember my photo of the rusty lamppost at the Swan at Chappel? Misterbs_yarn has only gone and translated it into yarn! I'm so thrilled! I'm going to have to get my hands on some of this - it will make a great pair of socks ... or maybe a shawl ... or ... #Repost from @misterbs_yarn with @regram.app ... Another new colourway; "urban decay #3" This was inspired by the great textures & tones in the photo by @annidomino #iloverust #knittersofinstagram #handdyedyarn #yarnlove

I spotted this incredible colour and texture on a lamp post last night. I love rust! πŸ˜™

I've finally finished my sugar skull socks from @surfingducks Day of the Dead Socks pattern. I'm really pleased with how they turned out. πŸ˜πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€
