Nothing is more incredible than getting to witness your dinner coming straight out of the ocean 🌊🦀 So grateful for today’s adventure aboard Captain Kelly Fukushima’s fishing vessel ‘Three Boys’ documenting the hard work of @sandiegocaught fishermen for an upcoming @lifeandthyme piece with @ironsidechef. We saw over 500 pounds of these gorgeous rock crabs being caught right off the San Diego coast - it was an amazing experience and a great reminder to never take our seafood for granted. I’m feeling particularly grateful for this beautiful rock crab dinner tonight. Thank you, Captain Kelly. #SanDiegoCaught #KnowYourFishermen

Spent the afternoon baking with our 4-year-old son Russell today — I let him pick the cookbook & then I picked the recipe. He pulled my old “Baking with Julia Child” cookbook off the shelf, and I chose this rustic free-form Berry Galette recipe. Nothing is more magical than watching Russell enthusiastically learn & cook with me (even if it does try my patience sometimes! Ha ha). That boy can crack eggs and sift flour like a boss, and it makes my heart (and tastebuds!) so happy. 💕 Blueberries, raspberries, lime & garden basil all wrapped-up in a sugar-coated buttery crust. Sorry Meatless Monday - all I can dream of right now are these salty, cheesy, meaty-amazing “Hogchos” by Chef Derrick Lee Foster of @emberbarbecue💥 A pork-a-riffic twist on traditional nachos, these use chicharron in place of tortilla chips, and are topped with pulled pork, smoked cheese sauce, pork jerky, pickled onion, sour cream, jalapenos and his housemade BBQ sauce.
