Sharing this moment with 200,000 people (and my own momma!) in #womensmarchdenver was the first time in a long time that felt like it actually made sense 🀑 ...the INCLUSION and wide ranging support for all walks of life and the environment felt like a real moment....not a moment staged with piles of fake papers and phoney speech writing and science denial. How alienating it is to watch the news or a Facebook feed these days... what a remedy today was // #thefutureisfemale #womensmarch #whyarewestillmarchingforshitlikethis

Birthday weekend/month still going strong HBD @smyjewski!!πŸ‰ πŸͺπŸŽ£πŸ°πŸ“€πŸžβ˜ οΈπŸ’›πŸŽˆπŸ’Œ

Hard to believe that a few miles into a hot canyon, this place exists in Death Valley. During our hike in we heard the insanely loud heehaw-ing of wild burros echoing in the canyon but never found them πŸ΄πŸ’”

As the days get hotter and the blooms are finding their way to higher elevations, this was the greatest way to end the day. Here (and only here) under the boardwalk of Salt Creek, you'll find the tiny endemic "Pupfish" who can survive the salty waters of Death Valley and live in mud during drier seasons.

The interior of an abandoned train car (turned home?) // Rhyolite, NV

Drove into Rhyolite, a ghost town in the Amargosa Desert which boomed and collapsed due to the Gold Rush within a span of just 5 years, to see Albert Szukalski's sculpture "Last Supper" (1984). A series of these figures sits upon a plinth with a backdrop of the desert landscape... Kind of spooky! Check out the open air museum, a house made of glass bottles, and the crumbles town not far from this site.

Catching the dunes before sunset // #deathvalley

From today's hike through Mosaic Canyon where stone and rubble Rock has been polished smooth by the force of water so it appears mosaicked in place or like marble in this instance.

Mosaic Canyon is dotted with some plant life (and bug life) we hadn't spotted before! Sagebrush Checkerspot butterfly on desert sage .

Today's hike... Zabriskie Point > Badlands Loop > Golden Canyon > Gower Gulch > Zabriskie Point. An awesome and martian loop that rolls 3 destinations into one. Also, mom waves "Hi" πŸ‘‹

Last nights storm clearing out the crowds as the clouds rolled in over Badwater Basin. What a strange strange land... The salt flat is the lowest point in the United States at 282 ft below sea level and with a massive evaporation rate of the water fed into it, a salt crust is left behind for us tourists to cross like tiny ants with selfie sticks on a foreign planet.

Hills of rust, yellow, patina green, and black. I suppose you don't need trees and grasses and flowers when the dirt alone is a showstopper.
