Checking off my final to-dos on my list before Thanksgiving! Cannot wait for all of the noms ๐Ÿฆƒ๐Ÿ

After wrapping up a fam-packed weekend and inching up on Thanksgiving, I can't help but feel really thankful. November has been filled with lots of family time and I truly can't tell you how much it's meant to me. I will always miss my NYC fam & friends, but I'm feeling incredibly grateful to be home this season. #AllOfTheHappyTears ๐Ÿ’—

There is a LOT of fluff in the biz and blogger world. Make 6 figures in 6 months... Learn how to print money while you travel the world... Work 4 hours a day and make more than your corporate job salary. The messages are everywhere, and while some people may be able to swing that, it's not the reality for the most of us. So why do people keep spreading these false illusions?
Well, part of it is because it's the vision of the perfect and easy life.. what we're all dreaming of! And let's be real, the romanticized version of that journey is usually a lot prettier than the reality. So using these buzzwords and phrases gets people's attention.
You're going about it all wrong though... You know what will ACTUALLY help you connect with your ideal clients/customers and readers? Being real with them! Showing them your passions and really connecting with them human-to-human. No fluff, no fake dreams, just you, your story and your personality.
Want more? Over on the @boldandpop blog today, @mallorymusante is dishing up some serious #realtalk on this topic plus sharing some great actionable tips for how you can implement this strategy for your biz or blog. Tap the Bold & Pop blog link in my bio to read on!

After a morning of hitting a BIG goal, this message really hits home. It has been quite the year of highs and lows in my personal and biz life, and realizing life is a journey is something I consistently have to remind myself. It turns out, patience is not one of my strongest traits. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Something I've learned about success this year is that it's more than just numbers and accomplishments. It's a feeling and a mindset. To me, the real feeling of success is looking back on the journey and how you persevered during the tough times. It's realizing that you didn't give up when others might have and looking at the development of your problem-solving skills when things didn't go as planned. Even more important, it's looking at how you learned from each and every experience and used those lessons to propel you forward in honing your purpose.
Hitting goals and milestones is the icing on the cake, but it's the journey you should really be proud of. Because getting up every time you've been knocked down, now that takes guts.

TGIT! I have a brand new blog post for you over on @boldandpop and today Iโ€™m chatting social media strategy! ๐ŸŽ‰
Thereโ€™s so much focus placed on creating quality content, which is certainly important, but itโ€™s only one part of the puzzle.

Something I've been working on a lot since moving back to Washington is finally trying to master that work/life balance thing. I've heard it was a thing, but if I'm being totally honest, the only thing I've mastered the last 2+ years since starting @BoldandPop is the work part. Starting and running a business is hard freaking work and I know Mallory and I will openly admit that we are guilty of giving our biz ALL that we have plus some. While we absolutely LOVE what we do and all of our amazing clients... the reality was the only path we were setting ourselves up for was the path to burnout. And with BIG goals, like taking over the world.. ain't nobody have time for that. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿผ
So we made a change. Since I moved home, we've both made an effort to close our laptops at the end of the workday and live a little! And I have to tell you, it's been a game changer for my mood, productivity, and outlook. I've started hiking on the regular. I've spent more time with family and some of my favs. I've been cooking more. Even more important, I've given myself permission to just relax a little and unplug in the evenings. Guess what too? Cutting back on work hours hasn't killed the amount of work we're able to get done either. Instead of working more, we've learned to work smarter by streamlining our systems to maximize our time. Are there occasionally still some late nights? Of course, but we've dramatically cut back on those 12-15 hour days that were often our norm.
We are ALL guilty of using the excuse, "I don't have the time to do this"... or "I'm just too busy for that". I know personally, I've used both a million times but newsflash YOU DO! We all have the same amount of hours in the day and the only thing you don't have time for are the things you do not prioritize. It's not a time issue, it's a priority issue. You certainly can't do everything, every day, but if you shift your outlook you WILL find time for the things you prioritize. Everything requires a little give and take, but I for one know that misson #LivingMyBestLife is a mission worth going after.
