We celebrated our engagement last night with the most loving, generous, and talented group of great friends and family. “Blessed” is an understatement!!! Now come on, May 5th! #thankheavenstheyreevans

It finally felt (and looked) like spring today. John Corbin and I opened up doors and windows at 1415 so our little house could get some much needed fresh air while we worked scraping wallpaper residue (second picture) and removing the old AC window unit in the dining room (third). Though tedious, cleaning up these tongue-and-groove walls is so rewarding, and we were excited about the natural light gained from losing the unit. •

In other news, the cast-iron bathtub that was original to the house is gone. Now the space that was the bathroom (fourth) can combine with an existing bedroom to create a (relatively) large master. •

With the old concrete floor gone, the basement is now a giant mud pit. A Bobcat and some strong men dug the ground to a much lower and even level. (Look at all that head clearance my 6’2” fiancé now has!) They then ripped out the old staircase. Sadly, we had to sacrifice a brick chimney I planned to leave exposed in the kitchen in order to make our plans for the basement work. But happily, the rickety balcony on the back of the house was also demolished last week. •

Next week we’ll get started on plumbing and a new concrete floor in the basement, and it’s possible construction will begin then as well. Y’all hang with me, and I promise the pictures will get prettier soon! #demoisugly #getsworsebeforeitgetsbetter #71daystogo #springiscoming

Who met with a plumber, pondered toilet placement, and rented a dump truck this morning? 🙋🏻‍♀️ Since my last post, our new roof was completed and put to the test with what felt like weeks of ice, snow, and rain (first photo). Finally, we were able to get started on the creepy basement this morning (video featuring JC “for perspective”). Our guys began jackhammering up the existing concrete (last photo shows today’s progress!) so that we can level and lower the floor and finish the space for an additional bedroom, bathroom, and an office/studio. We’ve got 99 days to make this place liveable. Y’all think we can do it?

24 flea bombs. 4+ layers of wallpaper. 5 tons (no exaggeration) of garbage and debris. John Corbin and I are remodeling a tiny brick Tudor in downtown Corinth that will be our newlywed home. After weeks of demolition that included cleaning out the NASTY basement, tearing down paneling, scraping up linoleum, exposing a brick chimney and ripping out walls, we are finally gearing up for the construction phase. Over the next four months, I’ll be posting about our progress. Sub-freezing temps delayed the roofers — apparently frozen shingles can snap in half! — but stay tuned for our new roof that’s currently in the works. 🏚🔜🏠

Looking at you with heart eyes, 2018! #thebestisyettocome

By far the best gift is this family and future family of mine. Can't wait for 2018 when I'll *officially* become a sister to lots of brothers and (more) sisters, an aunt to one sweet baby girl, and a wife to Mr. Evans.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !!!

Thankful for all 24 years and especially for those with these two. #birthdayweek

To a boiling cauldron add: 1 cotton tail, 1 spoonful of sugar 🔮🐰🌂🖤

She was my first first cousin and the closest thing to a sister I had for 13 years. Now she's our FAVORITE state champ volleyball player, too💪🏼🏐 #goolagoola

Snagged a white dress today thanks to my squad and @thedresstheorynashville 👰🏻💍🍾 #greccogirlgang

I could think of worse things. #brunch
