The ritual of marking the victory of good over evil, by burning effigies of Ravana, and reckless bursting of firecrackers, has been one of the major sources of air, noise and environment pollution. Plastic packaging and cracker remains litter the roads and several elderly people, birds and animals suffer from anxiety attacks.
Here’s how we can responsibly revel in the festivities this season: -  Say no to crackers: Lightning a sparkler in the festive spirit is fine but crackers are loud, dangerous and harmful to the environment. Birds and animals are terrified of crackers.
-  Support local artisans: Purchase handcrafted clothing, diyas and home décor items. -  Eco-friendly packaging: Say no to plastic, choose to upcycle and opt for greener alternatives for gifting this Diwali.
Let’s leave a happy, healthy environment for our future generations, not one that is damaged beyond repair. #HappyDussehra

Ikat is one of the oldest techniques of creating patterns on fabric. Even before the handloom is ready to weave the fabric, the yarn is tied and dyed with mathematical precision and immense skill to create a play of patterns. The master weaver then lines up this yarn on the handloom to weave into intricate designs. The slight blurriness in the patterns is a prized characteristic that gives handwoven ikat its iconic look.
