Shout out to the one and only @esymai for lacing up my old race shoes with some custom art and bringing them back to life. Appreciate you 🙌🏽 #nobikesnolikes #content

[ contest closed ] There’s a ton of tools out there for cyclists, but @TrainerRoad is a no-brainer if you’re in need for a platform that provides a training calendar, structured training plans, and analytics tools to help you #GetFaster. Let me know why you want to #GetFaster and I’ll choose one person to receive a one-year subscription to #TrainerRoad. #AD

Mud, sweat, and tears.

No tears, actually, but more smiles instead. Here’s some favorite frames from #farmersdaughtergravelgrinder2019. I’ll be back next year … with (black) MTB shoes and new (MTB) pedals.

Still picking out mud from #farmersdaughtergravelgrinder2019. Will post pix soon x (📷 @donalrey)

After a muddy #farmersdaughtergravelgrinder2019 I am buying (black) MTB shoes and knobby tires. #factorbikes #cestlavista

Popped. Dropped. Pooped. -
Not gunna front. I really thought #bearmountainclassic would be my race this year, esp after two DNFs in previous years — but in reality, it wasn’t real. I haven’t climbed half as much as I should have this season and I haven’t paid my dues with longer road races to prep me for this. Regardless, I learned my lesson. Most importantly, I gave it all I had until I literally had nothing left in the legs. Something I haven’t done in quite a while. And I’ll tell you what. I’m ready to do it all over again. Allez. “Wow, over 1,000 signatures on our petition from NYC's cycling community in just a few hours! -
Can you spare five minutes to take additional steps to convince National Parks Service and Aviator Sports to #Save FBF? -
Here are a few key individuals you can email and call. We suggest taking a polite tone while conveying your passion for cycling *and* for accessible and affordable public parks.”
.
1. Dean Rivera, COO, Aviator Sports (718) 758-7500. You can also tweet at @AviatorSports
2. Joshua Laird, National Parks Service Commissioner for NY Harbor: joshua_laird@nps.gov (212) 668-5180
3. Pam McLay, National Parks Service, Chief of Business Services: Pam_McLay@nps.gov (609) 955-1462
3. Ask local Congressman Hakeem Jeffries to help bring this to a resolution. District Office (718) 373 -0033 or (718) 237-2211
4. Senator Chuck Schumer, NYC Office: (212) 486-4430

Today, Tuesday, May 7, 2019 marks the first time in 25 years that the Tuesday Night Floyd Bennett Field bicycle race series couldn’t happen.
“A private corporation took over the permitting process from the National Park Service (NPS) and suddenly and arbitrarily increased permit fees by 22,667%. Aviator must reduce the permit fees in order for racing to continue.  Without this reduction, New York City bike racing starts dying: road racers have nowhere else to go.
.
We ask that Aviator Sports and the NPS drop the fee increase.  We ask for it because it’s the right thing to do.  The bike races are entirely self-contained and are no drain on park resources.  The bike racers are responsible park users, who have no other place to practice the sport we love.”
