My entry for @dakila_ph 's #Tibok2019 Arts Challenge Day 16 with the theme of "TRAPO". "Trapo Republic" is a fun competitive tabletop game revolving around the bad, the crazy, and the ugly Philippine political culture and affairs.
Looking at art in the lens of protest, then looking at protest in the lens of fun and humor, I can say that art is an effective way in changing another one's perspective on things. While a humorous interactive creation like 'Trapo Republic' appears irreverent and irrelevant, it is known that injecting fun in the transfer of ideas is very effective. After all, why does political satire remain effective and expected? "Trapo Republic" intends to educate the audience-players on the signs of a trapo, and how these trapos work and do things.
I intend to launch the game this coming May in time with the midterm elections.
Dakila asked me on my expectations for the coming elections. My expectation is that the Trapos will win. For now. But bitches beware, we're gonna outplay you bad people.
