Yesterday I put together this simple pleated skirt from this gorgeous floral barkcloth I picked up from @fancytigercrafts last weekend - swipe to see a close up! I love this fabric so much that I wanted to do something super simple to let it shine. ☀️ Also it's definitely warm enough to not wear tights today but my legs might blind my co workers! 😂#sewing #barkcloth

Trying to will spring into existence with my new, cheerful @tillybuttons #mathildeblouse! Failed at getting decent pics because of the dreary light, but added a close up of the front tucks and button back. This is a #cottonandsteel rayon that I picked up at @chateausewnola in New Orleans a few weeks ago. Fabric makes the best souvenir because you can remember your trip every time you wear the resulting garment!
Notes on the pattern: I took at least 6 inches out of the sleeve piece before I cut because I wasn't into the extreme blouse-y sleeve with a ton of gathers. Really happy with this more subtle volume. Also ended up topstitching the facing down because it was extremely flippy - would bind the neck next time. I kept the last button about 6 inches up from the hem for extra movement. But overall very happy with this pattern - love the design details and think it's super versatile.

I finished two garments this past weekend, one of them being this floral #cashmerettepatterns #appletondress! The fabric is a delicious brushed poly from @califabrics. I'm not a big floral person but this graphic print was calling to me. 💙
I've had a couple fails lately, and finishing this dress definitely gave me a much-needed boost in motivation. I love this dress! I'm technically below the bust range for Cashmerette patterns, but I figured that going up a bust size would give me more coverage, which turned out to be correct and worked out well for me. Would definitely recommend this approach! 👌🏻 #sewing

I made this little mug rug as a birthday gift for my friend and it turned out so cute! I actually think my favorite part might be the back. All these fabrics are from the February #stashbuilderbox (Yours Truly line by #cottonandsteel) and I used one of the quilt block patterns on their blog. #iheartsbb #sewing #quilting

You guys, I shot in the world's most Instagrammable space today. 😍 Can I live here please?

Been feeling nostalgic for our trip to #Paris last fall and was perusing my trip photos over lunch…so thought I'd share some of my favorites for #tbt! Definitely wish this could be an annual thing (in my dreams!). 🇫🇷♥️ #nofilter #travel #france

I realized I never showed you guys how these galaxy print #seamworkmag #airesleggings turned out! I love them! 😍If you were watching my Insta stories, you know I was making three more pairs of these - but then my serger broke. Again. 😡 Hopefully I'll be able to finish those other pairs and get back to sewing soon! #seamworkmakes #sewing

Yesterday's project was a #mandyboattee out of this super soft, drapey, marled sweater knit from @califabrics. Thanks to @heatherandthepugs for alerting me to this fabric, I love it! 😍 Took a close up so you can actually see the texture.
Notes on this pattern: I was super skeptical of the "one size" thing, but once I realized the finished measurements matched up exactly with a RTW sweater I love, I was sold. I added an inch to the sleeve but would add more next time. I lengthened the bodice by 2" and added a split hem, but it's the tiniest bit wonky and it's bothering me, so I might end up chopping it off. Glad I have the extra length to play with. So fast to put together and so comfy, will definitely make again!

I originally bought this #mammothflannel to make another Archer, but once I realized I just kind of wanted to drape myself in it without doing a lot of work, I couldn't shake the idea of a #fancytigercrafts #fendress, which I picked up in their New Year sale. When it first came out, I dismissed this pattern as "cute, but wouldn't look good on me." Funny how that changes when it's winter and you just want to bury yourself in flannel! 😂 I definitely have to wear it belted but it's still so cozy. Already have a summer version planned! #sewing

My #2016bestnine! All #sewing, as expected. 🤓 Eight of these were new makes this year and some of my favorites ever, so I'm glad you guys agree! Here's to more making in 2017! 🎉
