Jolie does not describe herself as a romantic. But Ian, she has eyes only for you.

The sweet first moments ✨

All the feels here ✨

A little sister will be joining this beautiful family soon. See my stories for a few more from this session 🍑

I don’t find beauty in perfection. I find it in the smaller moments. In the ones that may not be readily noticed.

10 years together. Emmarie beat cancer twice while Logan was by her side. These two are the definition of love. Selfless love. We were so happy to have been part of such an incredible day.

Can you spot Katie+Sandro’s pup Teddy? He’s bouncing along beside them in his fur-colored field 🌾

Last week Corinne and her family met me near Sleeping Bear Dunes for Corinne’s family session. This sweet family lives in Indianapolis and I first met them two years ago when they were in the same area on their yearly family vacation. I was hiking Pyramid Point, camera in hand, for an engagement session. I think I made some lame joke as they walked past the place I was setting up a picture that it was family picture time and to jump right in. They mentioned they actually DID need an updated family session and took down my information. A few days later we met and not only did a family session but Corinne’s older sister Abby’s senior session! Two years later they asked again if I could do a senior/family session and I was more than happy to oblige.

I am always the most reflective when I travel. Being taken away from the routine and the typical busy even if it is just for a few days. This morning I woke up at sunrise and took a walk and looked at mountains. Before I jumped in an Uber to the airport I walked the resort grounds and strolled the ‘zen walk’. I allowed myself to breath in the smell of the flowers and feel that dry desert air on my skin. I have one of our busiest months of the year in front of me but taking those few moments today (I hope) can help set me up for the hustle ahead. This little fish in the zen garden is my reminder to give myself a little negative space in the coming weeks for reflection.

Later today I’ll be sharing more from Katelyn+Johnny’s amazing Chicago wedding at @salvageone in my stories. Besides the beautiful details and location, what I truly loved most about this day was the genuine joy and laughter. The celebration of two people who are loved and in love ❤️
