AC Photography  I'd rather be a forest than a street. Yes I would, if I could, I surely would. I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet.

Beach days at the Jersey shore.

We get up and get dressed and get going and get paid. But we're 60 percent water, tiny tidal swings hungry for the ocean and bossed around by the moon, infinite salt and silt and sulfur.
Stay wild.

Mountains or the coast? They always ask. I want to say mountains. But I think I'd be lying.

Did you know that Bruce from "Finding Nemo" was named as an homage to the robot shark from "Jaws," who was named as an homage to Steven Spielberg's lawyer? Just things I think about out here for no particular reason.

Give me a meat and potatoes life. Experiences that get caught between the teeth. Places served rare. Moments that stick to the ribs.

Don’t be a daydreamer. Be a day doer. In this plugged-in world, you’re lo-fi. Your edges are frayed, moments like tape bleeding out of a cassette. You can try to wind them back up but they’re gone. And maybe that’s better. Come alive inside…that electric feeling of windswept hair and empty places, grey skies when the air smells sharper and there’s static trapped in your sweater. You’re a tire tread on a mountain road. You’re temporary and forgettable but, god damn, you went somewhere.

My most memorable mornings have always had a mountain backdrop, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one.

"What's your favorite word?" he asked. "I have a list," I replied, "And 'ramble' is at the top." What a lovely way to say so much about people, places, and conversations. What a lovely way to be, rambling along, a mess of dirty hair and tan lines, a bundle of hopped fences and restless energy, of things unsaid and things still left to do.

If Norway was a person, we'd probably be matched on any dating site.

That feeling when you're never the tallest person at a concert.

I subscribe to the idea that if you're the smartest person in the room, then you're in the wrong room. By that logic, if you're the fastest person up the mountain, you're on the wrong mountain. Luckily, that wasn't the case in Norway. Thanks for kicking my butt, Reinebringen. I can't feel my legs anymore but this view was totally worth it.
