Creeping on floral shopkeepers again! Doesn’t it look like passing through these doors leads to a magical, otherworldly escape? 💐🌿
My favorite days are when they rearrange their shops and get fresh new flowers in! The stores are always messy and slightly chaotic as they clip and arrange their displays. But it’s a beautiful mess and I cannot resist the urge to snap a photo or 10 🥰

This is the second time Myrthe has been featured on my Instagram 🥰 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I first stumbled across this charming place during PFW in 2017. The weather is the same now in May as it was in October 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
They have homemade confections, gluten free and vegetarian options, fantastic in-house baked goods, and amazing coffee-it doesn’t even need sugar or cream.
I’m starting to become hesitant about sharing my favorites places. There are some secrets that will always be kept, but should you find yourself in the 10th, be sure to pop in to Myrthe for a sandwich, grab a jam, fresh cheese, and a slice of tarte aux poires.
PS: thank you to everyone who voted in my Stories! The second runner up is next - swipe right for it, as well as more shots of this darling épicerie.

Found a new (to me) street in Paris. While in France I averaged 24,000-27,000 steps per day, or 10-11 miles!

For me, I am never lost in this city- unless of course I ride the metro 13 all the way to the North Wall by myself... in which case I am VERY lost, and leave quite quickly. You should see my friends faces when I tell them that I did that 🙊🙈 Opps! 🤷🏽‍♀️ I survived! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“Finding a taxi, she felt like a child pressing her nose to the window of a candy store as she watched the changing vista pass by while the twilight descended and the capital became bathed in a translucent misty lavender glow. Entering the city from that airport was truly unique. Charles de Gaulle, built nineteen miles north of the bustling metropolis, ensured that the final point of destination was veiled from the eyes of the traveller as they descended.
When the aircraft began to descend, this prevailing sense of exactitude and order made the visitor long for an aerial view of the capital city and its famous wonders, hoping they could see as many landmarks as they could before they touched ground, as was the usual case with other major international airports, but from this point of entry, one was denied a glimpse of the city below....
Slightly disappointed with this mysterious game of hide-and-seek, the voyager must continue on and collect their baggage, consoled by the reflection that they will see the metropolis as they make their way into town.
Then, the real introduction began. Quietly, and almost imperceptibly, the modern confusion of steel and asphalt was effaced little by little as the exquisite timelessness of Parisian heritage architecture was gradually unveiled. Popping up like mushrooms were cream sandstone edifices filigreed with curled, swirling carvings, gently sloping mansard roofs, elegant ironwork lanterns and wood doors that charmed the eye, until finally, the traveller was completely submerged in the glory of the Second Empire ala Baron Haussmann’s master plan of city design, the iconic grand mansions, tree-lined boulevards and avenues, the quaint gardens, the majestic churches with their towers and spires, the shops and cafés with their colourful awnings, all crowded and nestled together like jewels encrusted on a gold setting.”

A dream come true to be here. And what a joy to have our schedules match up and work the way they did, Joe!! From NYFW to the Normandy Coast of France- to rolling our suitcases perhaps a *little* further than anticipated, hunting for snacks at midnight, to me developing an actual fear of seagulls, so happy to share this experience 🐚🌊🏰
Also- I’m just now realizing how incredibly long of a day this was - waking up at 5am to pack, push our large American suitcases from arts district of Paris to Bercy-Seine (and...if you know, you know), me freaking out with the FlixBus guy, the 5 hour shuttle ride, the experience of *not taking* the shuttle because I was overly excited and needed to walk and pushing suitcases over rock, fence, and plank, and through the mont, checking in and then changing, getting food, and finally the tour of the Abbey because again, pure excitement. And finally to bed around 2am. Still, one of my favorite days 🇫🇷

In spring and summer, the sun works hard in France: it sets a quarter to 10pm, and rises again at 6:35am. And what a spectacular display it is. I cannot- will not ever be able to describe the deep sense of awe I had rising from my bed in an 14th century home, to see the sunrise just outside my window, over looking the tides and bay of the island that is Mont St Michel. It was very much the same sense of awe I had when when Joe and I strolled the perfectly empty, and silent cobblestone streets of the Mount well past midnight (in search of snacks), and could see the stars perfectly. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Literally, an ancient abbaye island all to ourselves. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Mount was so perfectly silent, I swear I could almost hear the stars shine against the night sky.
Do the birds know how blessed they are, to watch the sun rise every morning, perched atop the thatched roofs? Do the cats of the Mount know how blessed they are to roam the empty cobblestone streets each night? In those moments I felt as if I were experiencing pure magic; I forgot every sin, every bit of pain, forgot every tear- because if I had to experience each one of those times again- for the ones I experienced at the Mount, well, I would relive each of them again, without question. What a blessing to be alive. Thank you to every moment of my life, that eventually lead me here. I am humbled. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

“If I had a single flower for every time I think about you, I could walk forever in my garden.” – Claudia Adrienne Grandi

« Le Jardin de la France »
The city of Tours is nicknamed the Garden of France, and after my first day of wandering the Vieux Ville, I learned why: the entire city blooms. Flowering vines tumble up and over the walls, and plenty of gardens are dotted through the town - there are even violets burst through the cracks along streets, driveways, and front doors. The city smells like a bouquet. Truly. I have never experienced a more pleasantly frangeant city. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, the people here are so kind: when I became lost at the train station trying to find my AirBnB (I forgot to download my Google Map), three strangers came together to assist me! When I got to my place two young women helped me carry my luggage to the fourth floor - and once we reached the top, I learned they didn’t even live in the building 😅💝

Do you know where the worlds largest sundial is? It is here, in Paris! But, do you know where in Paris? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hint: it was originally a gift from Egypt, given from the king Mehemet Ali, to the King of France.
