A year ago today I walked into a bookstore and saw my new book #howtofixabrokenrecord kicking it with a @barackobama book. It was the day my book launched and the first time I’d ever seen one of my books in a bookstore.
So much life has happened since then. Some great things. Some really really hard things. I am still so proud of my little book. She went out into the world and taught me the power of being myself. She taught me the balance of being vulnerable and also knowing that I don’t owe it to anyone to make my story bleed for them. She taught me I don’t have to build a platform on my pain. She taught me to LAUGH at myself and at life. She taught me to let myself heal. With God. In therapy. Spending time with people who love me for who I am and not what I do. She reminded me to find new beats and dance.
I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who bought the book, shared the book, bought it for someone else as a gift. For all of your reviews, tweets, texts, Instagram and Facebook comments to let me know you were on the journey of healing your broken records too. I appreciate y’all!!! In honor of my #bookaversary I’ll be sharing some quotes from the book and posting episodes from the HTFABR podcast this month.
Book is still available everywhere books are sold (including audio book) in case you’re new here and have no idea what I’m talking about. 😂
Cheers to telling our stories and feeling found when other people share theirs. 💜
