This is one of the places I will miss the most - my own cozy apartment to come home to, a quiet place to rest and retreat from the hustle and bustle. Not to mention being able to enjoy the luxury of having a queen-sized bed all to myself, decorating to my heart's content and having a place for everything πŸ’›πŸ’πŸ™Œ #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

Being immersed in Thai culture and traditions this year has been immensely eye-opening - seeing how closely intertwined culture and religion are, how much light darkness needs, and how truth brings freedom. Thailand, you are loved. #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

From the lobby on the other side of the building, I would take a quick glance at this familiar view which greeted me on school mornings as I waited to leave for school. The skies never look exactly the same with each season but this is one of those every day moments I try to pause and savor. What a daily representation of this neighborhood that has been home for a year πŸ£πŸ™πŸ˜ #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

I wish I'd gotten more pictures from the day we went exploring in Bangkok's Green Lung because exploring this green hub was one of my favorite things about living in this city. But I loved soaking in the experience - cycling around the dusty roads, navigating the maze of the boardwalk trail, wandering around the floating market, trying exotic foods (like duck tongue!) and discovering cool photo op spots, which were just some of the highlights. #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

My wall of pictures - lovingly and carefully curated by children who drew them, gave them to me and beamed with pride when I stuck them on my wall. I love being surrounded by these mini-art creators - children who aren't afraid to express themselves and constantly inspire me with their talent. #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

Riding on old school buses with wooden floor boards, bus conductors who collect bus fares and hand out bus tickets, and no AC was such a novel experience initially. I never thought that bus rides in the city would become a regular thing for me, since I barely even knew how the system worked before. But now, with the help of my colleagues who navigated me through it, I know my route like a pro and actually feel like a local on days I catch the bus. #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

I have always loved sunrises and sunsets. But this city has given me a deepened appreciation of views like this. Pictures don't do justice, but thank you, Bangkok, for letting me fall in love with your beautiful skies πŸ˜πŸŒ‡πŸŒ† #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

This was definitely the year of train rides of every kind - from the weekly city rides, to a five-hour long ride to a week-long journey. I spent so many hours on a train this year, I probably have had enough train rides to last me awhile; but oh the memories of trains in every form, from the comfy to the stuffy, will live on. πŸš‚πŸš„πŸšˆπŸšπŸš† #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

Delving back into letter writing with this DIY letter set that I made with the Postscript kit. A note card for any occasion and I can't wait to write all the letters now. All the deets are on the One Little Bird blog! #onelittlebird #onelittlebirdct

I LOVE this cafe and I definitely took full advantage of the fact that I lived in the same city as Roast at The Commons to visit at every opportunity I got. The food here has (almost) never disappointed πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ This is one of the first places I suggest when friends ask for cafe recommendations and this will always be one of my favorite hangout spots, especially with the great company and conversations I've been able to have at this cosy place πŸ™ŒπŸ˜ #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

When it rains, it floods β˜” At least that seems to be a pretty expected occurrence around here, as evident by the locals just looking unfazed and casually moving on with life despite the water. Getting caught in the flooded streets of rainy season was not one of my favorite moments of living here; nevertheless, it was undeniably an unforgettable, memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience that is all part of the Bangkok life, for sure. #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell

With just one boat ride across the river, we were transported to a laidback, slow-paced, kampong (village) way of life, a completely different part of Bangkok that rivals the skyscrapers of city life. The contrast between old and new will always remain etched in my memory. #ameliasthaiventuresfarewell
