So inspired by all the amazing ceramics @artshackbrooklyn students and members made for @brooklynclaytour. This nonprofit studio has been my home away from home these last few months; on bad days, I walk in and instantly feel a lift in my mood. It doesn't matter if I accomplish nothing substantial in the hours I spend at the wheel -- I always leave feeling like I learned something new and am eager to come back as soon as possible so I can practice, practice, practice. Throwing pottery takes an infinite amount of patience -- the process is long with many opportunities to screw up, and the clay can be temperamental. But really, it demands having patience with yourself.
Anyway, thanks to @artshackbrooklyn for being a joyous refuge, and for all that they do for kids in the community. And shout out to all the lovely clay people I've met over these last few months, whose work excites and inspires me!
