10 years ago i was an elementary school teacher in the BAYAREA ... i left because i got sick & realized then how unhappy i was w/the system, & how the students & teachers were treated. Classrooms are overcrowded (literally cramming 45+ teenagers unsafely in classrooms designed in the 50’s or are temporary classrooms) Teachers are unable to help all the students needs, and health/nurse/therapist positions are being eliminated leaving students in danger. The public school system will only continue to get worse & more overcrowded .... parents, teachers & most importantly STUDENTS will continue to get more frustrated, if we don’t stand UP & demand action now. This is our future and it needs action now.
LOS ANGELES is a hub point of where things begin (good and bad). If it’s a problem here now, it will only filter out from here. Let’s make a change for our future now. 🍎📚📝💋happy to stand with @utlanow & PROUD that my current union @sagaftra supports the schools of LA
P.S. it was POURiNG rain on us but well worth it ✨
