Practising Paripurna Navasana - Full Boat Pose, one of the main yoga poses for a core strength. In yoga the "core" refers to more than just abdominals. B.K.S. Iyengar said that practice leads you to the core of your being. Navasana helps to build the strong abdominal muscles that can help to support the lower back. Getting in, staying in for at least 5 deep breaths and coming out of this pose will strengthen your spine, coordinate the work of the limbs and torso, teach about your breath, your attention span, your emotions and your very nature. Eventually, even a simple pose like Navasana can penetrate beyond the muscles, nerves, bones, and organs to your Self - your Nature - your Innermost Core.

Happy Friday, my friends! Just want to share few healthy facts about papaya and pineapple, my favourite exotic fruits which I use mainly every day for making smoothies, adding to my porridge/cereals/granola, fruit/veggie salads, or just eating on its own. If you want to boost your immune system and improve your digestive health, eat pineapple and papaya regularly! These two incredible, super delicious tropical fruits are full of vitamins and minerals beneficial for our health, their enzymes (papaya - Papain and pineapple - Bromelain) are classified as proteolytic enzymes, which are digest proteins, containing anti-microbial properties and work as anti-inflammatories in our tummies helping to release a variety of gastrointestinal complaints.
In fact, in Ayurvedic medicine, an ancient traditional medicine in India, papain is used to treat bronchitis, haemorrhoids, urinary tract infections, kidney stones and parasitic infections, in Western and African countries it's used to treat diabetic ulcers, cysts, infected wounds, even cancer and heart diseases. Yep, the magical benefits of Papaya are used around the world! Bromelain is known in reducing arthritis and joint pain, sinus infections, helping with weight loss and in control of post-operative inflammation, reducing pain and swelling.
On top of all, both papaya and pineapple are rich in antioxidant nutrients such as carotenes, flavonoids and vitamin C, as well as vitamin B (folate and pantothenic acid). It is also a good source of fiber and minerals such as magnesium, so essential for our immune system. Pretty amazing, huh?
