Alo Yoga  Spreading mindful movement. Making exceptional yoga clothing. Building community around the 🌎. And taking yoga beyond the studio & into the street.

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads out there! We’re paying tribute with a look at how yoga plays into fatherhood (and vice versa), according to a few of our favorite guys. @diceyoga of @bryceyoga adorably credits his son for helping him grow: “He has been my greatest teacher and the true vehicle for practicing my yoga.” See what else these yogi dads had to say on the Alo blog! Have you met our most ultra-lightweight legging ever? The Airlift Legging is made from our breathable, smoothing, lifting Airlift fabric that feels and moves like a second skin and stays chill when practice heats up (hot yoga, here we come!). For a closer look at the yogi-loved essential, and to shop it in every shade, click the link in our bio! #aloyoga

Sometimes it takes a village! Tag the friends you’d like to try this with 💙💙 Liz of @maxandlizacro & @gypsyon__ twinning in the Sunny Strappy Bra & High Waist Airbrush Legging. #aloyoga

Have you done an Instagram challenge yet? It’s the perfect way to strengthen your practice and have fun connecting with other yogis in the process! Challenges are open to all levels, so ANYONE can participate, and each one has a different theme. Some we love for June: #SelfLoveYogis, a gratitude-focused challenge, #FitForJune, to help you get in awesome shape, and more. Click the link in our bio for the deets on each challenge & spend some quality time on your mat this month like the amazing @kaylala88. We’ll be following each challenge hashtag to keep up with your journeys! #aloyoga

One of the reasons we love @victoria.arvizu is because she’s living our mission of bringing yoga to the world by building a studio that makes yoga more accessible. $8 yoga classes, anyone? “Keeping our prices low and our quality high means that people from all backgrounds feel empowered to experience this practice, and, through our teacher trainings and other programs with community groups, we are spreading the message far and wide that yoga is for everyone.” Find out how she’s helping bring yoga to a wider community, the yoga style she created & how mindfulness has changed her life on our blog. Hey, New York! Huge news 🚨🚨🚨—we just opened a stunning sanctuary in Soho on the corner of Spring & Mercer! We are so honored and grateful to be sharing Alo’s mission of bringing yoga to the world with such a spectacular city and yoga community. We have amazing things planned for you – our 2nd story, light-filled yoga studio has the most epic yoga class lineup. Stay after to grab a drink at our organic café and juice bar (hello, kombucha on tap, matcha lattes and delicious healthy snacks) & shop your Alo faves. Classes kick off next week! (Find us on the MINDBODY app to reserve your spot). The idea behind our stores is that they are sanctuaries, not just places to shop. Yoga classes and weekly meditation events, organic cafes and inviting couches are just part of it… they’re also places to connect with inspiring yogis and people who are drawn to Alo. We’ve been waiting for this for so long & it's so unreal for us to see our flag hanging in Soho! We can’t wait to om with you! Follow @alonewyork to stay up-to-date on all things Alo in the city! #aloyoga

Happy #nationalbestfriendsday! What makes a best friendship even stronger? @gypsetgoddess shares some insight: “There are few activities that test and deepen a friendship as quickly as acro yoga. In order to succeed you must work together as a team, communicate, and trust each other. In my experience, especially with @aubrymarie, it involves quite a bit of laughter, (maybe a bit of conflict resolution lol), at least a few fails, and often a few successes too. Working through all of the wobbles, miscommunications, and unexpected surprises together never fails to create lasting memories and new lessons learned. Acro yoga is fun with anyone, but especially when it’s with your best friend.” Tag your best friends! #aloyoga 📷: @ari_fararooy

“What would you do if you had no limitations?
Would you be able to cultivate the courage and the curiosity to try new things?
Would you have the confidence to challenge your boundaries and discard your comfort zones?
Could you surrender your ego? Remove your fears?
Love unconditionally?
Why aren’t you doing that anyway? What’s stopping you? Fear of being inadequate? Fear of not meeting other peoples expectations? Or fear of not meeting your own...?
Why do we feel the need to strive for perfection? Can we not find success, victory and ultimate fulfilment from simply trying our best in each and every moment? From living with an open mind and heart? From surrendering completely to the present, existing lightly and in a way that encourages others to do the same?” - @sjanaelise. She is featured in the Ambience Bra & High Waist Laced Legging. #aloyoga

Can we talk about all the incredible benefits of heart-openers? They go way beyond just the physical! Take it from @rivkayoga: “This is what my yoga practice looks like (after 4 years of consistent self-care & hard work). Yes, it’s weird 👽 or maybe considered extreme, but this is what works for me—it’s what opens me up & clears everything out, so I can delve into the spiritual piece of my practice. Heart-opening helps me with anxiety and depression. When I spend time opening my chest and strengthening my back, it enlivens my entire nervous system and my creative juices start flowing. I want to encourage as many people as I can to embrace themselves with love & compassion. Listen to your heart & stay playful!” What backbends are you working on? #aloyoga

Wonder what a class with @life_of_fee is like? She applies the lessons about slowing down and going with the flow she’s learned in yoga to her teaching, creating deeper experiences for herself and her students: “I gently breathe space into every single cell of my body. My practice is mostly one of expansion, opening and freedom. The deepest layers are strong, centered, stable but then each layer progressively gets softer & more vast, lighter & more lengthened. This particular feeling I experience in the physical body is what I try to convey most in my teaching. I think it's why my natural state in teaching tends to be quite soft, slow and gentle—perhaps a quality I didn't quite receive from my teachers when I was a gymnast as a child. Obviously I love symmetry, alignment and technique, but more than how a pose looks, it is how it energetically feels in the body. The flow of prana—that freedom and ease, balance & harmony—that to me is where the magic lies.” How do YOU apply the lessons you’ve learned in yoga? #aloyoga 📷: @leeroy.t

So inspired by how in tune @jessicaolie is with her body! Would you trust yourself to do yoga blindfolded? (Don’t try this at home 😉) #aloyoga #regram

What’s your definition of studio-to-street? Some of you love Alo because our clothes inspire you to get on the mat, perfect your practice and look good everywhere else. Our favorite interpretation? Taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into the practice of life. #aloyoga 📷: @sfreneenyc
