Dark Apartment is designed and visualized by Hilight Design and can be find in Cracow, Poland.

This is an intense take on design. With darker tones dictating the space, the overall appeal of the entire project is unique. Even with darker tones the architects are able to achieve good light and create a space, that is still warm and comfortable, at no point does it feel gloomy. There is a relief with the use of lighter walls. What really stands out in this design however is the way elements are highlighted with the use of sharp lighting. It is a very confident and strong take on design, beautiful nonetheless.

This home sits at a cusp where three significant landforms of this region the Eagle rock, mountain Ridge and vineyard valleys are all visible. Spread across 1140 sq.ft this home spreads out its arms in three different directions to gain these views. To avoid severing any tree roots, this project is raised on steel stilts. To meet the sustainability criteria put forth by the client, sizes of spaces was decided based on sizes on unfinished plywood and OSB available in the market. Care has been taken in the planning to allow uninterrupted views to the landforms, hence areas like toilets are accommodated along the central spaces. The simple and minimal form incorporated by the architects ensures the building sits humbly on a richly vegetated site, while also allowing seamless access to outside spaces.

This beautiful vacation home is a concrete monolithic combined with some spectacular natural elements. Minimalistic in its approach, it is blessed with spectacular views and a rich habitat. The stone wall hides the home from the street while the other end of the house unabashedly opens to the greens and water beyond. The linear infinity pool is the perfect horizontal element juxtaposed with the monolithic volume. Use of rich timber elements adds a lot of warmth. The house itself, opens out seamlessly to landscaped areas. What the design also beautifully achieves is an uninterrupted connection to all parts of the site and beyond, it's serene and calming.

This luxurious 620 sq.m home is stacked in ways that reminds you of the blocks of the tetris game. The continuous L shaped unified volume defines the most key geometric aspect of this design. With that adding permeability to all the spaces, the other columns are encased in timber. The slender timber slats bring in a lot of dynamism to the whole space along with sophistication and class. With some of these timber walls moving, various areas of the house open out to the garden areas. The intelligent use of levels makes the transition between the inside and outside quiet seamless. Large openings and the overall approach in the design makes this home feel open, embracing and vibrant, with light entering the house from various corners and visual connectivity that lasts through and through.

This design outran all the other 60 proposals to win the competition which focused on creating liveable habitats on Mars. This prototype was lauded for its human-centric design approach and its durability under such stressful conditions. Completely 3D printed this prototype is 15 feet tall and uses biodegradable and reusable basalt component which is easily available on mars. The windows here are installed with the help of robots. It is such a departure from what we know as dwellings, but it still feels like home owing to its design and comforts it offers.

This project is a medical facility with waiting areas, lobbies, lecture halls and clinical cabins. This is such a new take on Spaces related to health care, a design that merges the boundaries of architecture and art, marries them in a way to evoke strong emotions. The darker rich tones of the brick wall and that spectacular black staircase adds so much visual richness to the design, while the interesting white sculptures make a contrasting statement. The well-lit courtyard, honesty with materials, brooding dark contemplative spaces, creative artificial lights and the overall interconnected volumes of this design make it welcoming, warm and comforting, unlike most healthcare facilities.

This home is a great example of how to keep the spaces flexible in a design, so that the building stays relevant for years to come. This project was to meet the needs of a couple with a young child, the couple wished that the home adapts to the needs of a growing child. Keeping this in mind the architects have allowed for various volumes in clusters, spaces are allocated but with no particular function. With this, the space can be used differently at different times. Simple volumes relying on pure geometry and minimalism also keep this design real and flexible.

The main brief here was to provide a space that corresponds to present-day needs of education, campus life, The architects thus have played around with the idea of reinterpreting the atrium as an important public space that not only connects the people across various levels in the building but also connects them to the vibrant campus life outside. With easy access from the plaza to this atrium, the transition is almost seamless. Use of timber, slender staircases and fine contrast created by use of white coloured elements, this space is very much vibrant, warm, inviting and comforting in so many ways. The interesting steps take you to classes on the first floor, smaller discussion and work areas, casual seating spaces and so much more. Whatever you can think of, is all happening here.

In this space the architects were dealing with new uses like office and gallery combined together. The other challenge was to work on a historic building which is strongly placed in the context of the city. Of the many things they have achieved is the beautiful staircase in timber. Spiral in form and anchored to walls on the side, this space is essentially at the heart of this design. Rich texture and colour of the timber shines through in the space where white walls provide the perfect background. This design has retained the spatial charm of the older structure but induced it with contemporary elements like the chic staircase and many more to enhance the spaces and make it more current.

This beautiful building is home to a family with kids. The intention of the design was to allow spaces where parents can entertain and kids have a lot of fun. The main house is separated from the guesthouse and the connection between indoors and outdoors is almost seamless. However what we do see is the yard which houses cosy seating areas under pergolas, and that stunning pool. The well tended garden and many textures km the open space bring in a strong sense of character and belonging to this open space, reflective of the way rest of the house is treated.

This project gives a module that adds an extra 16 sq.m space to the existing social housing units. A complete design solution has been provided keeping the sociable aspect in mind, along with response to the harsh weather of this region, insulation and structure. With a timber frame and openable walls the structure ensures proper cross-ventilation and keeps the room ventilated. While the form of the addition itself gives a very urban semi-open appeal to the whole dwelling.
